We have done some here and there. 2009 had a throwback vs. Arkansas. We had another one in 2018 vs. MSU, but that may have been a tribute, not a throwback. We had a throwback in 2016 with gold jerseys that I thought were cool. Then we did the throwback helmet for the Ole Miss game in 2018 that for whatever reason looked really cool.

Yeah, I don’t find the white helmets work for Bama. Usually an all white uni looks sharp, but it just doesn’t work for Bama.

Did this in 2019 for the 150th anniversary of college football and as a throwback to the 1969 title team.

I think I remember Texas having numbers above the helmet logo a few times as well.
For teams like Texas, Alabama, Penn State, and Auburn who have pretty much stayed consistent with their uniforms I enjoy the small "throwback" nods like different face masks, different helmet logos, etc...
