If the defense plays great for 58 minutes of the game, while the offense plays well for 2 minutes of the game, then yes, the loss will be mainly attributable to the performance of the offense.

You're just making shite up now.

LSU's offense was ranked 4th in the country in TOP. That means LSU's offense was keeping the defense fresh - THEN handing them a lead with 2 minutes to go in the game. Yes, it's the defense's fault they can't keep the lead, no it's not the offense's fault because they scored enough points to take the lead, and they kept the defense off the field and fresh.

Now, there have been games when the defense kept the offense in the game, but the O couldn't score at the end of the game for the win. Those losses are on the offense, not the defense.

But your refutation of the offense did enough to win with one stop by the defense at the end is that the offense sucked for 58 minutes. It also neglects that both offenses were poor if LSU's offense was poor and they led. Really, none of it makes sense. The offense has to do its part and so does the defense. Your argument isn't one.

Dropping a game 20-13 in OT? Offense will get the blame, 100% of the time. Football is no longer "three yards and a cloud of dust

What's funny is you don't seem to grasp that the "three yards and a cloud of dust" offense did what it was supposed to. It gave the defense a lead with 50 seconds to go and 50+ yards to work with while holding the ball for more than 38 minutes. Yet, in your mind, the fact that the defense couldn't get a stop is somehow a failure on the part of the offense.

Pimp that vaunted Aggie offense that scored 0 against Bama, 17 against LSU

If Chavis's D plays great for 58 minutes, Sumlin's offense will typically have put the game out of reach. If the defense plays great, but the offense doesn't do their part, then I'm going to blame the offense.

You're going to be sorely disappointed next season.

Statistically your defense has been stellar most every year and the offense has not. This is not hard to understand. Your defense has carried your offense for most of Miles tenure

Exactly. Somehow LSU managed before Chavis.

This is the way I've viewed LSU's team for the past few years. It's always been a given that LSU would field a solid defense (tops in the conference) and the offense with Les' constant meddling and stubborness left you knowing the offense would suffer. I suppose some LSU fans just see their program differently than others?

Is Kevin Steele on par with Pellini & Muschamp these days?

Has someone disputed this?

Does this change the fact that LSU's inept offense has given the defense the lead several times over the last 3 years only to see the other team score a game winning TD, or kick a game winning FG? No, no it doesn't.

LSU has fielded a good offense when they are flush with NFL talent, like with Mett and OBJ and Hill. But when they aren't, like this year, their offense is bad. A good offensive system can produce even without top NFL talent

Along those same lines, A&M isn't going to suddenly fill it's roster with NFL DBs and top flight DB coach. Terry Joseph isn't your answer there.

Y'all are like those people who blame Bill Buckner for losing the game for the Red Sox or that TE for losing the game for the Packers this weekend while ignoring all the other dumb shite that the TEAM did.

We'll certainly see. He's going to be surrounded by superior talent than he had a Baylor and Clemson and have much better coaches around him.
