...do you spend less and spend to get the OL and DL linemen you need to protect a less expensive QB and to stop the 4-5 million QB from making a difference in the game? I understand that the NIL limit is going to be 20 mil or so and that they are looking at 75% of that going to the football teams. I am not sure which is the right way to go but some teams are going to make the right decision, and some teams are going to make bad decisions. I think if you have a great DL and OL you can get a 'management' QB and be fine. I could be wrong as I have been many times before.

Always thought those deals were directly between the player and the people ponying up the money. Is that not the case?

There will be major changes but not sure how you enforce and NIL limit? Kids will just sue their earnings are being capped. Also this hurts major programs who can pay more so don’t see a salary cap

You are correct. As a result, there can be no cap on NIL.

Just like there is no cap on endorsement money for NFL or NBA players.

Incorrect. Approximately $22 million will go towards the player’s salaries in a revenue sharing deal. NIL is unlimited and on top of that.

How do people still not understand what NIL is?

The revenue sharing total will be a touch over $20 million per school, with about 70% of that going to football. NIL on top of that won't be limited.

If you have a coach like Spurrier, it's OL and DL all day.

If you don't have a coach that can game plan and do shite like that, you might want to spend a little on a good QB.

Also the proposed 20 million limit is on how much the schools themselves can spend. It's not NIL at all, it's revenue sharing.

Most likely it'll be given evenly among the players in some fashion. I think it would be wise to have a pay grade based on seniority. AKA seniors get a little more than freshman, and they can look forward to a raise every year no matter what.

You “spend 20 million” while actually spending 35 million.

It is, but I'd assume for these purposes, the money is fungible; my understanding is that these collectives / donors form something of a pool of resources and collectively-ish decide where it goes, often with the coaching staff's input. An LSU donor or collective, for instance, won't be making a decision like without consulting the staff.
