Dak was the only player drafted on that offense and still won 10 games.
The OL was severely lacking in both 2014 and 2015. Bama and OM sacked Dak a bunch of times, especially in 2015 when we tried to pass more.
We also had a rough defensive backfield, whether it was players or coaching, I don't know. Even UAB was able to pass over the top against State. A lot of teams had a better chance of beating us if they just launched it every play. Mostly Dak was able to score enough to win.

My bad. I didn’t account for the idle weeks.

He won a Egg Bowl or two, right?
He never beat Ole Miss as a starting QB. There was one game (that he didn't start) where State won. Otherwise, nope.

25-20 at Bama.

They lost to a 6-7 N. Carolina. Barely beat Ga. Southern. FSU was exposed in the playoff as you could sort of see they were living off of the weak ACC that year. So that close loss was not nearly as impressive as Tech wanted to make it be.
Again, that Tech team had enough talent with that offense to beat anybody on any given day, especially a team without a DC and the HC calling both sides of the ball. Oh yeah, they beat your team who was in the Top 10 on the road to boot.

He's been an average NFL QB, but Jerry has always loved him. Thus, he's still with the very average Dallas Cowboys...

No.
In the Orange Bowl, Dak passed for 453 yards and 3 TDs. Missed the Orange Bowl passing record by 3 yards. Ran for 47 yards and 1 TD. Total 500 yards, 4 TDs.
Justin Thomas passed for 125 yards and 1 TD. Ran for 121 yards and 3 TDs. Total 246 yards, 4 TDs.
Yep. Dak played very well in the Orange Bowl. It was the State D who couldn't stop the Tech O that was the story. Not many teams could that season.

Define average? In stats? He's anywhere from 4-10 on statistical measurements in a given year. In wins? My previous post cleared that up. As I stated, is he elite? Hell no. A Top 5-6 QB? Hell no. Top 8-12? Yep. That's not average. That's well above average.

Dak threw three picks in that game, all of which came deep in Bama territory. Not sure you can blame it all on Mullen.

Okay dawg1200, he is a slightly above average QB in the NFL...

No, he's well above average and close to lower elite, but the clock is very much ticking on that.

Considering there are only 32 starters, “elite,” to me at least, means a top 3-4 QBs in the league. I don’t think anyone would say he is one of the three or four best QBs out there.

That's why I said "lower" elite. Maybe 4-6,7. Guys who can have that year and lead their team to a Super Bowl victory in a given year, but are still not in that Top 1-4 range you gave.

Lower elite?
Brother, either you’re elite or you’re not
Did you mean to say very good? Because that’s what he is. No doubt about that. But he isn’t elite by any stretch. You know who the elite QBs are, and he isn’t one of ‘em.

Kind of like Eli was then?

Say what you want about how LSU, A&M, and Auburn finished 2014, but at the time those were all very big games. State hadn’t beaten LSU in 15 years and hadn’t won it Baton Rouge in 23 years, and most of those games were absolute massacres. It was a huge win for State.
A&M was #6 vs. #12 in the polls, Auburn was #2 vs. #3 with College Gameday in town for the first time ever.
He also played really well in a win in Fayetteville in 2015, which has become one of the forgotten great SEC games of the last decade.
If you want to knock him for not beating Bama, that’s fine. State had a chance in the ‘14 game and he played his worst game of the year, so it’s fair to knock him for that one. ‘15 was just a total mismatch though, not really his fault. He was also 0-2 in Egg Bowls as a starter but very much picked up the win in relief in the ‘13 game.
State won 19 games in a two year stretch with Dak, the only time they’ve ever done that. He may not rise to the status of some other SEC greats but he was unquestionably awesome at State.

Mississippi State University was the #1 ranked team in the country for a period of time when he was QB. That’s a story of his meaningfulness all by itself.
