LSU got called for it in the USCe game because their linemen swung their arms. If they only shift they don’t get called for it.

Arkansas got called for simulating the snap count when a linebacker clapped twice to get another’s players attention for a play change. He was 7 yards from the line of scrimmage and was waving his arms and screaming. Finally clapped twice and got a delay of game

NEWS FLASH: Louisiana State fans don’t understand/are confused by the rules of American football…

In other news, water is, in fact, still wet.

Georgia players don’t yell Hut or Go, don’t clap, don’t move forward or up. They don’t do anything that simulates a snap or snap count. That’s why they don’t get called for delay of game.

Maybe that’s what you thought you saw, but the play by play is available.

Was off on it then. Def saw Georgia shift a bunch though. And it looked no diff. than what LSU did.

You have to do it right and Kirby understands the finer points of the rule.

The call depends on who the refs bet on.

I had the same convo when LSU was called for in the 2nd quarter? I think. Nobody crossed into the neutral zone, two linemen just shifted down and the LT jumped. Not sure how that's on the defense unless something was said audibly.

Yeah I would love to see us line all the plays up, and you point which ones were legal and illegal. And then I would love to see a ref do it to follow.

The only unknown it the equation.

The irony is, on the bad snap/fumble with LSU, you could tell Nuss was ripping the officials for missing a DL by USCe yelling something to cause the snap. I mean he was beside himself and that's the only thing he could have been yelling about because no one moved other than the center.

It has to be a legitimate change in lineup, there is a eight way to do that.

Apparently it’s because UGA does not make a vocal call for the shift, so no one can say that they’re simulating the snap count. It’s just a defensive shift, and multiple defensive players are allowed to be in motion at the same time.

It would be a penalty if, for example, a linebacker clapped to signal the late shift.
