Sounds like he is telling his fan base...”please don’t turn into the Bama fanbase” ;-)

Well, Muschamp has the same record that Dabo did in his first full 3 years at Pickens Tech. Point being..it ain't as bad as folks would like to believe here. We're getting there. Slowly. But surely.

Like I said in the other thread, is Saban said something like this, the shitstorm would be endless. Dabo is a fricking clown and I hope Alabama isn't dumb enough to hire him when Saban does leave.

Does it really matter? There isn't a coach in the country that will last more than two years at Bama immediately following Saban.

I wish the media would have called his mommy loving pos arse out. If he was happy with a 1 point victory why was your sorry arse throwing the ball to try and score again with less than 2 minutes on the clock and already up by 2 touchdowns. Lying arse weasel.

I don't agree with this. Bama will still be competitive for at least 2 years after he leaves, unless there are bunch of transfers. We won't even know if we made a good hire until year 3 or 4. Just saying Bama willl still have a lot of talent that just about anybody would be able to win with.

So he doesn't like a place where fans complain about beating teams by 21 points but he's "headed home" to a place fans complain about beating teams by 21 points and students barely show up for games...sounds kinds strange.

Truth. I give the next guy 4 years though. Next guy may win a NC his first year on the talent alone that Saban will leave him. Then it’s a slide over the next 3 years to 1, 2 and 2 or 3 losses.

Two years of no playoff and next guy is fired. Then it’s another 15 years of “wandering in the desert” for Bama. A repeat of the 90’s and early 00’s.

Dabs, as much as I would love to be wrong, knows the guy after Saban gets fired and will never take the Bama job.

Perspective is everything my friend. Even in what you call "wandering in the desert" years, Bama managed to go 91-31 (1990 through 1999). And, even in the darkest era in Bama history (2000 through 2006) they still managed a 10 win season and an 11 win season. Most teams would kill for that kind of production in lean times.

Dabo at Bama is a terrible fit, especially after Saban. Not a good idea at all.

Bama fans would lose their minds with Dabo as their head coach post-Saban. As soon as he would have offers out to coaches' son's that are not worthy of a P5 offer and he loses that WTF game, they would be crucifying him and he would be longing for the good ole days at Clemson.

Dabo on one hand says "Best is the standard" and then out of the other side of his mouth says "1 point win is all we need!"... Which is it?

Bottom line is Dabo and Venables got outcoached by South Carolinas's staff. Clemson was clearly superior at nearly every position and still made a game of it. The past couple years has shown that if teams come up with new/unique formations they haven't shown on film, and run the hurry up out of it, Venables can leave our defense in a compromised position waiting for the call, and our Safety's this year are not exceptionally talented and prone to busts. A&M and Syracuse, as well as USC, all used that blueprint successfully against Clemson.

It's why I think Bama will beat us worse than last year if we play them again. Our 2016 team was built to beat that Bama team, despite the fact that was one of the best defenses of the past 20 years in CFB... We were built on stopping the run, and had the ultimate playmaker in Watson. If we play them this year I think it's a 48-21 type of game in favor of Bama.

I think the issue with Saban inevitably retiring is that there's no way he'll leave a cushy setup for a guy like Dabo. He'd die on the job before he'd let some other guy get the championships that he laid the foundation for. Saban is a human. He's petty and selfish like all of us. He is not from Alabama and he didn't build Alabama football. He will secretly want his successor to fail.
