Enough of this howling at the moon stuff. It's time to get serious about who will put the best talent on the field in 2024. So here are CBSports's top 16 teams that have signed more Blue Chip recruits than non, over the last 4 classes:
Ohio State 90%
Alabama 88%
Georgia 80%
Texas A&M 79%
Oregon 76%
Oklahoma 73%
Texas 72%
LSU 70%
Notre Dame 67%
Clemson 64%
Florida 63%
Miami 61%
Penn State 61%
USC 59%
Michigan 56%
Auburn 53%
I expect Florida State (49%) to join the list next year. No other team is even two foreseeable recruiting classes away from crashing the party.

With all that talent DeBoer shouldn't lose a game. No excuses. I can't wait for the melt.

There will definitely be some melting if DeBoer goes undefeated.

Nice to see OU up there again like we should be, we had some recruiting doldrums from around 2010-2022, especially on the defensive side. Remains to be seen if Venables is truly the right coach, but he definitely hasn't had an issue in recruiting talent.
Also lol at Texas.

Who would have thunked it? When reality meets perception and blows it out of the water, it's always kinda cool. And that's how Venables got that early raise.
Florida is going to be sneaky good if they can take their early OOC schedule. And who would have thought the barn would make the top 16 after Harsin's non-recruit policy?

Cause Jimbo can recruit his azz off and did. Elko won't be playing with one hand tied behind his back as some silly folks suggest.

I’m surprised Tennessee is not somewhere on the list - around where Auburn is.

Ok, but it makes sense for OK. Our Blue Chip rate is up because all the Riley players left. So you have to understand the situation before saying OU got worse because of the high transfers. Blue chippers replaced them thus the higher ranking in original post

Speaking of transfers as part of the blue-chip equation, where in the world is Ole Miss?

Look at Ohio st up at the top with %90 and Michigan way down at the bottom with %56. Yet the Suckeyes have dropped 3 in a row to the Wolves and then got trashed by a Mizzou team in the bowl game last season who isn't even on the list. So....does this list have any worth at all?

Ole Miss has signed 47 transfer portal players and just 16 were rated as blue-chip prospects. Suffice to say, folding them in does not move them closer to the Blue-Chip Ratio club.

Is that "signed" or "currently on the roster"?
If it's the former, it's not a great metric. It probably worked in the past because rosters were less in flux, but with the transfer portal now, the current roster doesn't necessarily match what was signed in past classes anymore.
I'm more interested where 247's talent composite shows teams at when that comes out.

Do you even see Washington? Kalen DeBoer went 25-3 in 2 years and 3 recruiting cycles. I can't wait to see what he'll do with talent.
But yes, of course, talent matters. Kirby isn't winning championships with his gameday mind. Ryan Day can recruit like Jimbo Fisher and Ohio State just spent 30 million this offseason to back up the recruiting. He now has no choice, he better win it all.

I’m going be honest, I’m not sure why so many people think that DeBoer will fail

I can't wait to see what he'll do when he has to play a schedule with UGA and other SEC powers on it and not the Our Lady of Grace all-Catholic girl's School for the Blind.
