I like to throw a little money on college baseball futures and I was checking out the numbers today. Personally, I feel like a SEC will win it again so I concentrated on them. Also, I am excluding Tennessee, LSU, and Arkansas because they are all under +1000 so there isn’t really a lot of meat on the bone right now. Here are some longshots that I feel could possibly win us some money.

Texas: +1500
I think getting the number one team for that is a steal. I think there is a very good chance they will be in Omaha.

Texas A&M +4000
Don’t laugh. They have been hot lately and they definitely have the talent to do it. Preseason #1 for that is definitely a steal.

Ole Miss +5000
That’s a very good team they have. They could definitely go to Omaha and do some damage.

Auburn +6600
Ok, I might be stretching here but they could beat anybody.

I think all of these are worth a few bucks on considering I feel very confident a SEC team will win it.

Unless Bianco pulls another pitching miracle out of his arse like he did in 2022, I don’t see us going past the Supers at best

I’m not saying you guys should be a favorite. I’m just saying at +4000 it might be worth throwing some money on.

SEC is really good this year, it is tough to tell because it really does look like any team (outside of a few) can win any weekend.

Will be cool to watch as the season continues.

FSU +2000

Link is on a mission this year, especially after getting cheated vs Tennessee in Omaha last year

Is Texas the only team that hasn't lost a conf series? And Kentucky took them to the wire for Texas to win 2/3.
Oklahoma gets swept, then their offense explodes against a ranked Vandy.
Georgia gets swept then wins a series against Arkansas.
LSU bats went cold and still lost 3 games by a combined 7 runs after two straight weeks on the road.
Tennessee gets blown out by aTm then wins a dogfight series on the road at Ole Miss.

My good friends that are Texas fans are realizing, despite their record and ranking, they have no easy days over the next 5 weeks.

Imo, Texas A&M has a better chance than Texas to win it all this year, even with our current #1 ranking and them possibly not making the postseason.. and yes, I'm serious.

Yes, our pitching is really good, but we just don't have the bats.

Can we win a Regional? Probably.
Can we win a Super Regional? Maybe.

Can we win the Regional in Omaha? Idk. If a team throws their best 2 P at us in Omaha Game 1, we just won't have much of a chance. Rinse and repeat in Game 2. Once you get past those 2 games, we'd have a better chance because our pitching would stay about the same, whereas everyone else's would be going downhill fast..

The extra days of rest in Omaha would ultimately bite us though as teams would be getting pitchers back.. If we got lucky and got through all that.. I'd actually like our chances in the Final..

+1500 is fair, but there's a reason it is lower than those other 3 teams.. and it's a valid reason.

Our bats seem to be waking up, and we seem to have remembered how to catch a ball, but pitching is still suspect.

We'll know a lot more about A&M the next 2 weeks.. 3 or more wins and you've got a good chance to make a run.. less than that and it's still questionable..

The thing about it is that, if Omaha has normal weather (and it didn't last year, to A&M and Tennessee's benefit, in my opinion), it really puts a premium on pitching.

It's almost like two different sports: there is college baseball played on campus, and then there is Omaha.

If you guys get to Omaha, I don't think the lack of hitting will keep you from winning it. But you could run into a good hitting team that gets two pitchers to have a decent weekend and end up falling short in a regional or super.

There are no guarantee's in baseball. We could lose in a regional.. we could win it all.. the answer is most likely in the middle somewhere..

As for this year.. I see our guys take swings when facing a good pitcher and it's not good.. not good at all. Bad luck is one thing, but swinging and missing by 2 feet because you made the decision to swing or take before the pitch was thrown is a really bad sign of that hitter's approach at the plate.

Not all of them are that way.. but we have several holes in the lineup. On top of that, most of our guys can't touch high 90s. The higher you get, the more guys you face with that kind of stuff. All that being said, we could be facing someone like Paul Skenes who we would have no chance against, and he could have a bad day.. or get a blister and have to come out.. weird shite happens in baseball.. again, no guarantee's..

I love the direction we are heading, especially since we were going going backwards the last couple of years.. but it's gonna take a whole lot going right for us to have a chance to win it all this year.. but this team has surprised me so far, so maybe they'll keep doing the same..

Going to be a very Interesting post season for sure. Who gets hot at the end of the season could be the team to win it all. Never seen this many good teams in one year.

Our bats will get a bit better for postseason hopefully if Belyeu is able to return.

I don’t think we ever expected there to be any easy days in the SEC.

We barely competed in the Big 12 the last several years.
