Haha yeah it is retard. Also, it’s taking away the depth that Alabama and Georgia could stack.

No he’s an idiot. This is nothing like that era. Love how all the losers want to act like Alabama and Georgia were the only schools that were supposedly paying players under the table and everyone else was clean. The difference is the transfer portal and they can’t stack talent now.

Once again the data doesn't support it. Alabama was still rated the most talented team in the country this year. You can debate if it's coaches or players all you want, but Alabama did not lose to Vandy etc because of talent levels. That much is clear.

They didn't lose to Vandy because Bama had little talent. Bama always has top level talent.

They lost to Vandy because Vandy could take players via the portal and they aren't normal Vandy.

Whether you believe it or not, Vandy closed the gap enough to find a way to win that game vs Bama. Vandy also beat other teams they normally wouldn't. All because the talent is actually being spread out.

You say Ole Miss didn't pick up anything of note. Yet, we took aTm's top DL....he's projected as first round pick. We took UF's best dline...he's going to be drafted. We took Arky's best LB....he's going to be drafted. We took a CB from Bama....he shined for us.....going to be drafted. I could keep naming guys.

If you don't believe the depth is being affected at top schools, you've buried your head in the sand.

Didn't have a choice, but Stockton deserved to play much more this season even in contested games.

Beck would have been stacked about 8 times vs ND.

Vandy over the past years, using overall which includes transfers:

2025: #58
2024: #42
2023: #69
2022: #45
2021: #49
2020: #54
2019: #57

Basically no change. The so called uptick does not exist.

Ole Miss is #13 in the overall rankings this year, you were #17 last year.

I'm sure you have some good transfers, but you had more talent while cheating with Freeze bringing in top10 classes.

It will be teams that have some upperclassmen and use NIL correctly

The top 4 all for this bill.

Stupid, UGA's national championship dreams when Beck went down. If he played, UGA wins by 2 tuddies.

Vandy over the past years

No portal then no Diego. No Diego, no victory over Bama.

You can post all the numbers you want to. Bama lost 4 games. Four.

They lost four because Bama isn't so far ahead.

Last year Ole Miss got manhandled by UGA. We go out and sign the best DL in the portal and then manhandle their Oline.

Freeze signed two top ten classes I believe. Using hookers and everything else. Yet, he couldn't go grab a starting corner from Bama. He couldn't grab the former #1 recruit from aTm.

We have a UGA dawg guy who loves to tell us you must have 45+ blue chips and then you can compete. 45+ four star guys.

We signed 18 this year. When has Ole Miss EVER inked 18 four stars in one year. Oh, but it's 13th. But if we sign 18 more 4 star next year, we will be approaching this minimum blue chip threshold in just 2 years.

But, it doesn't matter. Nothing has changed.

Bama has always found a way to lose to Vandy every 20 years....right?

Bama could out talent people for a long, long time. Saban stacked 4 stars who couldn't leave. It's over.

And here we go again. Another legacy SEC melt. They know it's true, they know what it means, and yet they melt all over this forum trying to convince the earth that water is not wet.

The idea that OhioSt and Michigan just began paying players is as stupid as it gets. This has always been the narrative.
They also used to say that Big10 schools couldn't recruit like the SEC because of academic standards. They have always looked for excuses for the SEC's rise to power once uga sued for the rights to be on TV. The Big10 hatred was amplified 1000x when this happened.

This doesn't mean shite when your coaching is lacking. And, on a conference-level coaching in the SEC is lacking. Michigan beat Alabama with 2 tomato can QBs who together aren't a 1/4th of what Milroe is and bullied a 4 and 5 star OL around with a second string defense. UGA has out-recruited ND as well and ND whipped them fairly easily. It's coaching!

Gonna be a long off season for this poor bammer.

Alabama is going to keep on being the Alabama they’ve been for over a century. However, what Saban did has been systematically invalidated. Alabama will find another way to compete at the top of the sport as they always have but it will not be how Saban did it.

Saban got away with buying recruits for years.
Now the playing field has leveled.
That’s why Saban retired.

If you think Nick Saban is the only man who had boosters buying his recruiting targets for him, I got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.

Transfer portal is far more the culprit. Recruiting rankings are largely the same pre and post NIL.

The transfer portal though has caused servicable depth to be much harder to maintian, especially at the biggest impact positions, like QB. Development of players in a system is drastically decreased. So, naturally you are going to get more parity across the country.

One big change that helped these schools out was the expanded official visit abilities. One thing they struggled with was getting kids from the south up there to visit, and they just don't have the same talent availability up there.

Now, it is far easier to get kids up there for multiple OV's. That was a big help to a lot of the Big10

It’s more of a coincidence

This is the only acceptable answer.

One team loses their HC and sticks with a QB that isnt that great.

The other team loses offensive firepower.

Two teams is their whole argument despite many other metrics out there such as the NFL Draft, recruiting rankings and so on.

People are just captured by the moment so they can hurriedly write a premature obituary.
