One might expect a Nike camp in Tuscaloosa to feature at least a few highly placed Alabama commitments, and Class of 2011 pledges D.J. Pettway and Hasean Clinton-Dix didn't disappoint.
Pettway, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound defensive end from Pensacola-Catholic, won defensive line MVP honors at the camp, which featured more than 300 players from all over the South.
"He's an aggressive player and plays with a lot of energy," camp DL coach Lonnie Martz said of Pettway to ESPN.com. "He goes all out on every play and came out here and performed like he had something to prove. He has a nice first step and showed a good spin move as well."
Clinton-Dix, a 6-2, 195-pound safety from Orlando-Dr. Phillips, also had an impressive camp with good cover skills and physical play. "He has a long, lean body that can add weight, he covers a ton of ground as a free safety but he has the ability to line up at corner and match up well with wide receivers," Rivals.com's Barton Simmons wrote.
Another defensive back targeted by the Tide but currently leaning toward Auburn, Leeds cornerback Jonathan Rose (6-1, 180), also reportedly turned heads with rare skills for a player his size.
Alabama commitments Daryl Collins and Danny Woodson were among the receivers in camp, but Woodson, who caught two touchdowns in a spring jamboree just over a week ago in Prichard, was reportedly hampered by a minor injury.
Two other Mobile-area players, Blount linebacker Antonio Marsh and Faith Academy defensive end Chris Casher, were among the standouts at their respective positions, with Marsh (6-0, 192) reportedly showing good speed and cover skills and Casher (6-4, 220), a Class of 2012 prospect, showing explosion off the edge. Marsh, who runs a 4.54 40, has an offer from South Carolina.

Not as bad as the guy I saw asking for Trent's autograph...during his junior year. How excited he was was the disturbing part

I mean, when the dude got it, he reaction was a cross between meeting the president and an orgasm. Whenever he comes down, I always try to imitate that guy when I see him
