I think up until this point the thinking's been 'don't fight back or other players won't want to come here'. However, at some point, and maybe this is it, someone has to say enough.
1. Those knuckleheads are so whimsical in their actions that they will fly with the wind for every kind of contract whether it is actually of their interest or not. Even if kids considered free NIL a perk regardless of whether they stayed loyal or not to your school why in the world do you want those kids anyways.
2. We are talking about big money in some of these cases. Not just a couple thousand here or there.
3. What is the point of the contract if its not meant to actually hold up?

You have a weird obsession for Arkansas.

And you're a douchebag that is probably not even an Alabama fan.

He's cajun, roots for Alabama and obsesses over Arkansas. Do you hear banjos in the background? I do...

This would be amazing and should happen. It will be a major negative recruitment against Ark and Tenn (even though they are doing the right thing) and I would love if they won for the justice of enforcing these contracts so these your adults have to abide by the same contract law as anyone else in this country.

Thats what I do not think people understand about NIL. If you can afford to send millions for players you are lilely successful in business and you expect an ROI for your investment. You also are likely not going to stand for some 18 -20 yer old kid making a mockery of your contract and you have the funds/resources to try and hold them accountable in a court of law.
This was bound to happen to the players that neglected their contractual obligation and I am 100% here for it, hope they get exactly what is coming o them.

If there’s a buyout clause in the contract then I don’t see why they wouldn’t come after it. There’s no reason not to.

Need to go after UCLA too for tampering. The SEC should be on that protecting their teams yet they’re sitting on their arse getting paid. NCAA is beyond dead and worthless.

These NIL deals need guardrails for sure

The moron speaks. Butthurt because he was rejected by every school in Arkansas and now makes a living collecting beer cans from the side of the road.

How long before some school tries to put a non-compete clause in some of these contracts? I bet someone tries it at some point. It would be interesting to see how that would play out.

Good for Arkansas making a stand!!! Coaches may try to use it in recruiting but something needs to be done. Free education, housing, meals, healthcare, tutors plus thousands of dollars. Hope they have to pay every penny back plus interest.

NIL is not pay for play "technically."
I think you are right. It has more to do with messaging on the players marketability. Haven't seen a single commercial/infomercial with Madden's face in the LR area. Not sure how a jury would rule on his "value".
Good test case, but could ultimately end up blowing up in our faces with new recruits.
wth, not like we were going to win the SEC next year anyhow.

I think you are right, uk_reb.
The good news is, Arkansas isn't in a position to compete for the national title anyhow. We want our damn money back! ;)

Tennessee made a stand. Applaud them for that, at least.
Here's the deal, I'm all for kids getting paid fair value for the $$ they bring in to the universities they "work" for. Right now, there is no balance.
We might not win but 4 games in 2025, but, by gosh, we are gonna fight for the little guys (yup, that's us).
