If they hoped to extend his contract they wouldn't have drafted Garrapolo

and surprisingly enough what you need worse is DB's.

Well, perhaps you can tell us why they haven't then?
Haven't gotten anyone to bite with enough value.

Yeah, for 'enough value' (same as money) anything is for sale.
By the way, speaking of our O line becoming a strength, it looks like we may be picking up a 'one year to play, eligible immediately' transfer - a 6'6" 320 pound OT rated by one service as the #11 OT in the nation out of 146. Brett Boyko out of UNLV.
More to follow as it's confirmed.

Just replying. Probably should have done it in one post but oh well.

Houston Nutt and Darren McFadden are giggling at this thread.

So running a smash mouth offense against two of the teams in the country that run it the best. You don't think you'd need to beat them at their own game to win the conference?
Also look at the gap in recruiting. If Arkansas wants to be successful in the smash mouth they need to get Little Rock and Pine Bluff recruits back in the schools. That area has pretty much dropped off in D1 athletes compared to what they used to be.

Arkansas fans should be thanking Gus Malzahn and that "gimmick high school" offense.

Malzahn only coached here for one year.

Auburn only had to beat one of them to win the West.

So that offense that Malzahn incorporated wasn't the same offense Nutt used after Malzahn left. Rigghhhhttttt.
FWIW he also tried it at Ole Miss.

Huh?
The offense he ran in 06 was the same offense that was ran at Arkansas from 98-07.
The only addition was the wildcat that Danny Nutt put in when Matt Jones was QB here.
Malzahn's "Offense" is the wing T at a really fast pace, other than tempo there isn't anything special or complex about it.

Because McFadden hadn't already run for 1100 yards and 11 TD's as a true freshman the year before Malzahn showed up.

I think he is talking about McFadden running the option offense like Matt Jones ran, truth be known It was Danny Nutt's idea to put McFadden back there, Malzahn wanted to use Hillis in that role.
Posted on 5/30/14 at 8:57 pm to DaleDenton
Right but he's implying McFadden only had success because of the offense. That's not even remotely accurate.
