Yep, beautiful. I kinda just wish it was about 1k seats bigger. I know empty seats are an albatross but I’ve always thought they could add a GA third section on arenas this size that remains closed until the bottom two sections are filled. Could come into play for gymnastics and I wish they’d get concerts again.

Agree - I'd prefer it be 11,000 or 11,500, but I get it.

Makes sense. I like Coleman’s location better, but probably not logistically realistic to put it there.

Supposed location also a bummer. Think attendance will be affected on the rando games with our lazy arse students not wanting to walk down there. Wish we did it on Coleman’s footprint and split games between bhm and Fosters for a couple of years. Fosters would be surreal.

But hey, we’re getting a new arena!

Yeah once they're done with the Welcome Center and Performing Arts Center on the Bryce property, that area will be a first class archway into campus. Next to the Riverwalk.
There's tons of room over there.

Are they gonna tear down Coleman? I know they're supposed to tear down our flying saucer eventually for "green space" but with our new campaign, it's gonna be there forever

There's far too much athletic dept. offices, meeting rooms and practice facilities to do away with Coleman.
Those areas of Coleman are extremely nice and new. It would be stupid to get rid of that. You'd have to find a place for all of that.
Coleman is basically an office building with an arena attached.
It's also in a great location.

They can build it with all those bricks they shot the other night.

That basically is the exact same layout as the inside of our arena

Yep - they toured it multiple times, I think. Byrne really liked it.

Where are they proposing to build this?
3 proposed sites with the one George posted as the perferred.

Byrne also mentioned potential sites for the new basketball arena, and those include the lot next to Coleman Coliseum, where the band field is currently located, right off Jack Warner Parkway and, most likely, right off McFarland Boulevard above where RVs park on game day.

It has a big arse window, which is nice since Coleman was a cave

Hasn’t Ole Miss had glare issues with day games because of that?

Next to McFarland will be great logistically. They'll be finished with McFarland's expansion by then.

There will be several entry points to the arena.

And DAMN! did you see their proposal for the golf facility. It's like the freakin Taj Mahal.

Looks way nicer than the toilet dump Oklahoma plays in.

Our current arenas are pretty similar - built around 1970-75, renovated multiple times but still suck, falling further and further behind other schools in our conferences.
