The saban statue is going to look great in it.

FWIW, putting up a statue of a coach currently coaching your team is pathetic and I'm sure Saban is thrilled about it.

FSU has had a Bobby Bowden statue since 2002 or 2003

And Saban is leaps and bounds better than Bowden.

FWIW, had Mike Shula won a national title in 2005, he would have a statue in that spot.

But LSU already has a full color statue of Les Miles. Haven't you seen it?

FWIW, even though a lot of Bama fans feel they should have waited a while, nobody asked for your opinion on the matter.

Hmmm and Bowden also coached at FSU for nearly 35 years...I think the man deserves a statue.

Agreed. Bowden was there for a long time and definitely deserved one regardless of the fact that he was still there. I think they should've probably waited a little bit for Coach Sabans statue, but have no problem with him getting it now and can't understand why so many make a big fuss about it.

So, according to you, for a coach to deserve a statue, it's not how good he is, it's how long he has coached? Coach Paterno also has a statue at Penn State. Guess it's only there, because he has coached there a long time.

Alabama started a tradition several years ago to put a statue of every coach that has won the National Championship on the Coaches Walk. Coach Saban fulfilled this and he deserves his statue. There will also be a plaque with the players from the national championship team.

There will also be another National Championship plaque and a SEC Championship plaque put in the Walk of Champions.

I'm absolutely thrilled with Saban getting his statue...right now. I think it's a visible reminder of the high standards of Alabama football and the well earned recognition for what hard work and determination can achieve.

Well, he and his wife have certainly put a lot of effort into the design to be "thrilled about it".

I believe Mt. Cody(Does that sound dirty to anyo--nevermind) said last year that Saban had told them that he wanted a statue out there
