Since we Bammers will be seeing this stuff in person this weekend, please fill us in on what the yell leaders are calling for with these movements(?).
1. The piston hands
2. The weird reaching hands
3. The jazz hands
This is enough to start with...
Thanks in advance for your help.

They aren't cheers, they are yells.
You are welcome.

The "jazz hands" looks more like "spirit fingers" from the movie Bring It. That dude was probably an Aggie.

It's called Aggy Hokey Pokey
"Shoot your load on the man to your right"
"Use this trajectory to make it in my mouth"
"Cup the balls to the left and the right"

You've got them out of order.
(3) is the signal to the fans that it's time to fill our jars, (2) lets the fans know to commence filling jars, and (1) is the celebration we do when we top off a jar.

I like BTHO best but it's a free country.

Those are cues to say something or make a noise in unison. The Yells are signaled in advance and you will see people in the stands mimicking the hand signals to let others know what the yell is.
Hand signals get 50,000 people doing a yell in unison. No other way to do it in a space this large.

Simple explanation: A&M is gay.

Oh...I get why. I just don't get how they came up with such odd contortions when a simple number or gesture would have sufficed.

Well at least the only way a bunch of homos will notice.

Aggies don't cheer. Aggies yell. One of the many reasons we are better than all of you and everyone else.

Stop lying.
It's a bunch of gay buttfricking jizz jar filling gang signs.

Hard to see a finger or two from second or third deck don't you think. We have more than 10 yells so that would be a clusterfrick trying to signal up a 11 or 12 or 13.
As I said, the gesture is done to communicate the yell itself. All the stuff in the photos are what is done to keep the yell in unison. Yell leaders start by an exaggerated opening and closing of hand 3 times then the stuff in the photos goes on through the end of the yell.
If you want to understand then you will...

Yell leaders became a thing in the early part of the 20th century while A&M was still an all male military school. Freshman were made to wear all white jump suits (typical for custodian work at the time I believe?) to entertain the upper classmen. The role was created in jest at first to add some clownish entertainment to the football games. However after the female visitors from other schools started to show interest in the freshmen and their jump suits the upper classmen quickly reworked the scenario in their favor to become the yell leaders.
What you are seeing is early 20th century hand gestures and over the top motions to entertain and lead yells. When you take that stuff and drop it into the year 2016, it doesn't make too much sense.. but that's what you get when you hold on to traditions as long as A&M does at times.
Hope this answers your question.

Is that what they teach y'all at that boy's camp in College Station?

We might not be smart in Louisiana, but at least we can read.

The closest thing LSU fans have to a synchronized A&M yell is when you demand the rival fanbase fellates a male tiger penis in unison.
