It is the crown jewel in basketball.
Programs like Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan State, and Kansas only hang NCAA tournament banners if they make it that far.
You don't see Elite 8 or Sweet 16 banners. It's either Final Four, a conference championship, or National Championship.

Do they get to claim their new coach's high school championships?

alabama fans have said Auburn is celebrating like they won a national championship.
Many don't understand that making the Final Four in basketball is in a different galaxy than making it in football.

They give out rings and trophies for Final Fours, too?
The crown jewel in any college sport is a national championship - anything less is a participation trophy.

Yeah. And cut down the nets.

So how many banners does Auburn have then? I know State has as many but I'm not comparing State to Duke or Kansas

I must have missed all of these other Final Fours Auburn has been in

68 teams have a chance at making the Final Four when the tournament begins in March. In college football, 64 fewer teams have a shot at making the final four when the final rankings are announced in December.
So you are right, they are both in different galaxies.

One dumbass doesn't equate to Bama fans.
Anyone with team color, a player name, coach name or anything related is automatically assumed to be a Finebaum caller.

He isn't the only member of alabama's basketball savy fanbase that thinks that way.
