Do y'all think it will be an 8-game schedule with 1 permanent rival or a 9-game schedule with 3 permanent rivals? The conference has to let us know something soon!

If it's only 1 permanent opponent then they might as well just tap the coffin down another few inches from where it already sits 5'10" underground.

I do not feel like giving espn the ninth game until they acquiesce for more cash.
But I want to keep Alabama, Auburn, and Florida on the schedule.

10 conference games would be the best option.

It has to be 9 unless somebody knows a way to keep all annual must play games in tact.
We saw last year this “no divisions” created more headaches trying to figure out final standings using unique tie-breakers than having the games ACTUALLY be played.
&, as I stated in another thread, expansion will most likely require pods to help with fb scheduling.

An even # eliminates the 4/5 H/A arguments.

8 game schedule, 2 permanent is the only correct answer.

What I saw last year was no divisions made things way more interesting since we didn't know who was going to make it.
Divisions suck arse. I hope we never go back to them.

It's unsustainable with 8. We almost had a 7 way tie. Either don't have a CCG or go to 9 (preferably both, imo)

SEC will not go to 9 games without more $ from ABC/ESPN.
Personally, I'd love play Ole Miss, Fla and A&M every year.

As long as Alabama doesn't get to play for the SEC championship games ever again.

You forgot your best rival is Alabama. Shame on you.

I know I’m in the minority, but I wish they would go to a 10 game SEC schedule. The SEC & Big Ten are going to get 4 automatic qualifiers after next year, so let’s all get rid of all the stupid, bs, non competitive non con joke games. I despise teams in our conference playing 4 games against glorified high school teams.

Not the same since Saban retired. Still a ton of fun though.

3-5 works the same as 3-6
5 games every 12 years instead of 6
2-6 would work as well
12 games every 26 years instead of 13
but the teams have to vote for it

Not exactly.
3-5 (8 total conf. games) means 4H & 4A.
3-6 (9 total conf. games) means 4/5H & 4/5A alternating.
Do you really want to hear the arguments over the location of that 9th game’s impact on somebody’s season?

I don’t like this 10 conference game option. Playing 11 games against a power 4 teams and 1 cupcake is a grueling schedule. Bc the sec mandates each school play 1 p4 team a year. They would have to change that rule

If players are getting paid like professionals then start playing a schedule like professionals.
Why do people want, or enjoy, watching incredibly lopsided, non-competitive games? What’s the point???

From the talk on YT, it’s pretty much expected to go to, at least, 18 by 2030.
