I am new to the board and if this was already up I apologize.
You all have watched more SEC games than me...
I am curious for everyone's honest opinion on which Unit was better...LSU's record setting offense in 2019 or Georgia's record setting defense in 2021?

I think Georgia would have had serious issues stopping 2019 LSU's passing offense.

Kirby has never shown the ability to stop elite QBs and great wideouts
2017 Alabama 2nd half
2018 Alabama
2019 LSU
2020 Alabama
Jameson is probably a starter for 2019 LSU but I’m not all that sure that Metchie, who was shredding UGA, would have seen the field all that much

I'm no corndog fan, but one team went undefeated. The other did not.
So there's your answer.

I'm a UGA fan and I'd give the edge to LSU simply because while UGA's defense was great, the "less great" part of the defense was the secondary, and LSU was a passing team in 2019.
I like UGA's set up overall because 2019 was based on an elite QB (Burrow)... while UGA's success was not based on a single elite player. I think UGA's way of doing it will be more able to be maintained.

Defense wins championships.
In 2019, no one had a defense.
In 2021, Georgia had a defense.
Georgia wins.
In 2019, no one had a defense.
In 2021, Georgia had a defense.
Georgia wins.

Doesn't matter as long as it works in NATIONAL championships. Sorry, Bama.

On a side note, who's defense you think was better: Bama 2020 or UGA 2021?

Look what Bama did lighting up Georgia in the SEC championship, now picture a better offense with Burrow/Chase/Jefferson against that defense. ‘19 LSU would hang 50 on them.

Is this Cajun mental midget trying to tell me something about number of posts???
Can any LSU fans who might speak Cajun translate for me?

2021 UGA and its not close.
No one is calling Bama 2020 defense generational or best in CFB history.

It ain’t the 2000s anymore
A great offense will beat a great defense every time

Indeed, and it's the 1971 & 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Thank you for reminding us.

Georgia had one of the best defenses in the country that year (maybe not as good as 2021, but not that far off either). LSU took them behind the woodshed and beat them senseless.
I think it would have looked like the game with Bama and Georgia in the SECCG. LSU would have punched first and often. It would be ugly. LSU that year had a better QB, better receivers, a better run game, and a better defense than Bama last year. Plus, LSU shut down better offenses than Georgia's by the end of the season (Oklahoma and Clemson). No contest here. LSU wins by a minimum of two scores.

QB - Mac Jones (1R pick)
RB - Najee Harris (1R pick)
RB - Brian Robinson (3R pick)
WR - Jaylen Waddle (1R pick)
WR - DeVonta Smith (1R pick)
WR - John Metchie III (2R pick)
OT - Evan Neal (1R pick)
C - Landon Dickerson (2R pick)
OG - Deonte Brown (6R pick)

Yea, well, pretty good.
