Bats have definitely showed up today. Utermark just hit an absolute bomb that was a thing of beauty.

If i recall he hit well Friday as well. He really struggled out of the gate last year but by the halfway mark he was hitting over 300 and showing some pop
ETA: Hill was 5 for 9 with 2 HR, 1 Triple, 6 RBI, and 2 walks.

Definitely was a successful weekend. Winning 2/3 against ranked teams is a good start to the season.

Cautiously optimistic after the weekend.
Getting smoked by Texas was alarming but overall I feel better this weekend than I did last year after the first weekend where we apparently split 4 games with Hawaii that nobody could watch so there’s not much proof they happened

I don't think we're going to have much pitching but hopefully I'm wrong. Our roster stacks up against Mizzou, South Carolina and maybe Alabama on paper. We shall see.

I feel good about our pitching. We have a top quarter staff in the conference. We have an ace and we are deep in middle inning talent. Maybe weak at closer.
But our offense was last in the conference last year and on paper it's legitimately worse this year.

You don't have to be the best hitting team to win as long you get timely hits. Does suck, because I think if you add Fischer and Doyle back to this team we'd be pretty damn good

What is going on with Connor Spencer? Watched him struggle to find the plate in Arlington and then to come in as the “closer” in the 9th against Arknsas State only to load the bases and let them tie us up!

Connor Spencer did the same thing last year where he looked horrible early in the season. He settled in after the first third of the year.
It's really nice to have a legit ace again. We've been lacking that the past 2 years.
