He’s doing all of this without his top two players who conspicuously had to miss the season because of Auburn’s own amateurism issues. At least with AK we’ll never have to worry about the program getting torched because of how oily it’s become

The aforementioned effectively handicapped him this season with the loss of two good recruits (Pickett to Georgetown and the other to Pitt) that woulda/coulda been major contributors this season.

Pickett is going to be a double/double machine for Georgetown and Stewart starts for Pitt

Pitt and Georgetown are also much better basketball programs than Ole Miss has ever been. It is what it is. Our peak basketball culture has come under AK, and it’s ok to solid at best, but much better than our resources historically would dictate. If we make a move, it has to be a definite upgrade because it’s orherwise a wasted gesture to jettison the best coach Ole Miss has ever had because the rest of the conference has done a better job building up. We’ve built new buildings and expected it to offset the sheer recruiting expenses other programs have invested that we haven’t. This team sucks, but I don’t think some hot assistant will improve the situation necessarily

I've always thought Kennedy was our guy but I'm at the game and they don't look motivated.

Our guys look lost. They don’t know how to play defense.

It does help they are shooting 68% in second half

That's the thing. Tennessee is very good defensively, so I can accept our lack of offense tonight to some extent. However, our defense has been horrid all year and beyond. That's obviously Kennedy's biggest weakness as a coach. You play enough basketball in a good league (and the SEC is that again) and you are gonna get blown out occasionally. Sure hasn't been much of a basketball season. Lastly, it looks like some of our guys are digressing. (i.e. TDavis, Hymon, Furmanavicius, along with very little depth). Either that or they just aren't motivated enough to be preparing in the right way anymore. It happens. Sure wish I felt better about it not being the case next season though.

I think Kennedy gets fired. I don’t think the players want to play anymore.

One thing is almost certain, there's not much difference between our performance tonight and what we could get out of just about anybody coaching us. But I'm still hesitant to say it's time to run him off. It's. A. Really. Tough. Call. Now on the radio they are saying Bruce Stephens isn't available for a post game interview. Why do you even try and interview a player when you lose by 30?

You don’t. If Kennedy is here next year the line up should be almost completely different

I just wish we'd invest more in recruiting before we ditched our best coach in program history. Yeah, we have an awesome building that's still new enough to be exciting, but it's not the newest arena in the conference anymore, and everyone in conference, especially in the West, has stepped up their crootin' game. I'd love to see what would happen if we could get at least one massive prospect of the caliber LSU, Alabama, and Auburn have gotten lately, and until we're at least in the running for those sorts of kids, we're no more than an occasionally overachieving team in a conference of programs more dedicated to and capable of getting to the tournament. I don't know who we could hire outside of someone like Tom Crean who could do much better than what we've got in AK

How did we become the worst team in the SEC? And yes Vanderbilt would beat us right now.

It's obvious that to be consistently successful in basketball you have to invest more in recruiting but I'll be totally honest I'm not at a point where I'm ready to do that if it cuts away from football and baseball.

Simple - we have recruited poorly at PG and F, we run a very poor system on offense, we haven't put enough effort toward recruiting, we do not play defense, and Kennedy is currently up the creek without a paddle. Furthermore, I genuinely don't think there is a way to save this season - the players have quit and the fans are losing interest.

Lot of talent being wasted this year. TD could be an NBA prospect if he was being coached properly.

I honestly think Kennedy will be here next year since he has one more on his contract. Ncaa tournament = extension and anything else we let it expire.

What are the recruiting implications if we retain Kennedy one more year but don’t extend his contract? He doesn’t deserve to be extended honestly but we are also pretty much locking in the worst recruiting class in the sec if our head coach has one year left on his contract
