My dog is letting you know he's going to pin you down and eat your heart you while you watch it beat in it's mouth.

from my memory without looking it up, Gary Larson's bio was that he was some type of park ranger (something in regard to forestry and/or animal science), so he had a scientific mind.
then he started doing a comic strip (The Far Side) just for fun, started getting it printed I suppose in some local papers wherever he was, and then the syndicate folks came calling, loving his work.
I think he made a frickton of money obviously

I enjoy Gary Larson's comic strips. I love the ones where you have to take in the whole picture to get it. Those are usually the funniest.
