Looking for some suggestions on golf to play. Not real familiar with either of the states golf scenes. Long story short Im catching a last minute flight to KC Wednesday morning to pick up a truck I just purchased and will be driving it back to upstate S.C.
It appears my route will be east to St. Louis then down south east through Nashville.
I have my club making some calls tomorrow to try and get me out on St. Louis CC. Bellerive. Or Boone Valley which all appear to be in the St. Louis area. Not sure the likelihood of it, so any public tracks worth playing along my way would be greatly appreciated.
Same goes for Nashville area, going to try and get on Belle Meade but don’t know if it will work out.
Got what looks like about a 14ish hour drive time a head of me so figured I’d try and break it up with some golf. Ideal situation afternoon round in St. Louis area Wednesday and check out the city that night as I’ve never been. Wake up early get into Nashville Thursday and play a round there. And finish the drive Friday morning.

Fairfield Glade - Stonehenge
Edit to add:
Fairfield Glade is right off of I-40 near Crossville (about 2 hours East of Nashville).

Seems you want to golf at a higher rated course. If so, the best in st louis metro that are public are Annbriar, Gatway national, Missouri Bluffs, Tapawingo. Bellerive and STLCC isnt likely. Both Gateway and annbriar are in Illinois but very close to downtown st louis.
Other courses I enjoy are crescent farms, aberdeen, and pevely farms. All three of these are located together

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into these. You were right Bellerive said no way to unaccompanied guest, but STLCC said possibly will have to just see what their tee sheet is looking like tomorrow. I like trying to get on private courses just because I feel I may never have the opportunity again.
Actually considering French Lick now. It only adds about an hour to the total drive time, and they have a decent stay and play with a round on the Pete Dye and Donald Ross courses with 1 night accommodations, just not sure I can get from KC to FL in time to sneak a round in that day.

In Nashville, Hermitage Presidents Reserve or Gaylord Springs are both amazing courses that would be easier to access than some of the country clubs
In terms of country clubs, Westhaven, Hillwood, Legends, Richland and Belle Meade are all great. Golf Club of TN I hear is also amazing but i've never played it
Crossville also has amazing golf
