US News says so. LINK

They ranked dead last in opportunity and bottom 4 in Health Care, Education, Crime, & Fiscal Stability.

I say no. Any state that borders Texas gets enough good stuff via proximity alone.

It's funny to me that we're in the 40's in all areas except quality of life where we're #7.

Basically we're flipping awesome and I won't have it (I SAID I WON'T HAVE IT) said otherwise.

Louisiana is a really bad state to be poor in, not that Alabama is that much better. I think that skews these type studies. I can almost 100% guarantee you that you live in poverty if you have two of the following

1. Have a child out of wedlock before age 25
2. Drop out of high school
3. Commit a crime
4. Come from a home with only one active parent

Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama all lead in these stats. Thats not a coincidence

Honestly, I've worked in Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana and I find them all to be good in certain things.

I'm not sure how you can rank states over each other and not just regionally. For example, the Southeast USA eats a lot of fried foods and "southern food" so we're generally gonna be in worse health. The inverse of that is that people from the north and other areas love etouffee, gumbo, Cajun food, fried chicken, regional bar-b-q, etc.

They overtook Mississippi a few years ago. Louisiana is a total shithole, the fat, poor, and stupid capital of America.

A perfect example of why the South is ranked so low.

And they always rank Northwest Arkansas high on these type of lists. Not saying much for the rest of the state

It's a total shithole no doubt. Just look to the Louisiana residents on the OT complaining daily about how shitty Baton Rouge and Nola are

Porn stores across from every gas station, rampant crime, smelly. That state is disgusting

It just depends on what metrics are used.

Why is Louisiana regarded as one of the happiest states if it's so shitty?

LINK

You can always find something that a state is best in or worst in.

The concerning thing is every other southern state seems to be doing well right now and they are turning things around while we sit here and watch every person and job move out of state.

Why is it so shocking that states with The most poor people have the worst quality of life? Just like everywhere, if you have money MS and LA are great places to live.
