This. THIS. THIS!

A competent QB who can throw to a spot instead of only to stationary objects ...

Cook is a true son who needs to see the backup role for the rest of the season ...

Well, at least Kansas managed to pull defeat from the jaws of victory.

The defense ran into Conner Weigman the 5 star NFL prospect so they can get a pass for giving up 41 points.

All off season the analysts said this offense, with so many returning starters, should keep us in games like this. Instead the offense is malfunctioning.

Other teams would change things up on offense just to see what happens but that has not been done since Eli has been at Missouri as I can remember. .

Maybe they can bounce back at U Mass next week.

He’s compensated well no doubt. But $9mil at Missouri isn’t same as $9mil at Alabama. We have to invest in potential, pay a little more up front and build some loyalty.

This is so "Mizzou" in sentiment.

Please upgrade your TSF donation while we rebuild the program. We have a 50 yr plan.

While the coach calls out the fans for being apathetic becasue of the post Babs years/decades.

I sat in Faurot on Saturdays watching and supporting Missouri while they got blasted for more years than Harry Potter has been alive. Coach Pinkel helped mend the gap, but you still owe us a lot more.

frick THAT.

kansas was finished long before today, but I’m amused over the fact their lone win came against a team in its third year of D1 transition.

I’ve never gotten off the Fire Drinkwitz train and yesterday only strengthened my resolve. CFB is in a different era thanks to the portal and NIL. Go find a coach who is strong minded and knows what the hell he’s doing on gameday.

If I heard Drinkwitz correctly, when asked if he considered changing QB's his response was "Why?".

This goes way past having your player's back. It's arrogance at a high level. JMHO

The follow up should have been ... "okay, if you're not changing your QB, what about your scheme?"

13 for 31. 41% completion pct. QBR = 25.6

If the problem isn't the QB, it has to be the scheme (or both) ...

Drink is going to find himself at a G5 school by 2027 if he keeps up this schtick ...

Arrogant douchebag. Amazing that he still hasn’t felt humbled yet in his personnel decisions.

You guys are focusing on the wrong issue. The question should be "Why are you keeping this OC." He is obviously coaching to get a HC gig. He isn't coaching for Mizzou. He is bound and determined to be a QB guru and turn Cook into a complete QB.

Any casual fan could see quick slants, or any high % pass plan benefits Cook and the OL. But Moore refuses to adjust. This started last year with the insistence to call plays requiring deep, accurate passes to the sidelines that were failures.

Moore wants to be a HC, fine let him go. Find an OC who calls plays to make the most of our talent, which ironically is pretty damn good.

We looked terribly coached in every facet.

Just pathetic.

Pinkel always put the back-up qb in to run a few plays to see him in game

That isn't fully true. He only did that when the starter was going to be gone the next year and the backup had already won the starting job for the next season.

I have the Buffalo game on now. And Buffalo ran a run play for a big play, and then ran the same play again for another decent gain. The weird part is they show the OC in the booth, and the announcer says " He put his ego to the side and called the same play."

These guys want to be the hero of every play. It isn't about what works best for the team, they all want to be thought of as geniuses. Everybody who covers CFB thought we would have a dynamic offense and questionable defense. So they are all stupid or Moore's ego has failed the offense.

Orr maybe it’s that he’s realized Cook sucks no matter what he tries. Maybe it’s a combination.

But we have a very limited QB that’s a mediocre passer and can’t even run anymore. Teams don’t even have to defend that threat this season tbh.

That forces Cook to hit tighter windows or go thru more reads. Both things he sucks at. Last us two games last season because he couldn’t get thru his reads.

Cook is a good kid. But he can’t do frick all right this season and it’s not Moores fault he keeps missing wide open guys.

Not saying you don't have a right to your opinion, everyone here does, but I'm gonna disagree...

IMHO
1. Cook doesn't suck. He is limited physically. He had 1 offer, then for some reason Odom offered. Obviously he takes the Mizzou offer despite limited talent.

2. Cook had a very long completion to interception string, and consistently completed strings of passes to several receivers, and that was with Drink calling plays and a bad OL.

3. Stretch zone blocking, the run game and short to medium passes worked for Cook. Moore then tried to have him make deep throws, back shoulder throws etc. It didn't work.

4. Cook was never a running QB. He was good at escaping and making you pay if the DE rushed behind him and left an open lane. Occasionally he could run a QB keeper after faking the end around or pitch to Burden.

5. Despite a great season in 2023, there is no reason to believe the offense should be a drop back, multi read, precision throw offense. Why ask this from Cook? The kid is who he is.

Maybe…. Teams have taken away the only things Cook is good at. I’m not sure. I don’t have the eye for it. I’ll leave Navy for that. But I cannot believe Moore would tank HC possibilities by making Cook be a deep passer. I don’t think he’s stupid enough for that.

I’m also pretty sure Cook is just blind as a bat who also misses guys in the flats, intermediate zones and goes deep instead. I’ve seen it called out a few times in the game threads.

Moore isn’t running 4 Verts offense and I’ll need proof of you think he is.

He’s missed the easy reads a lot.

I’m sorry. But Cook does indeed suck arse.

Any of Pinkel’s or Odom’s QBs do better with these weapons. Except the coked Mauk maybe who likes to scrambled 20 yards in reverse.
