Miami: Miami has some real talent but underperformed last season. Being in the ACC they could be a playoff contender if they were to win this opening game. TheIr QB pickup in the portal looks like a pretty good one. You would think the Swamp would pull this game out but Miami probably has a chance late in the game.
Florida likely wins

Samford: Nothing needs to be said here but hopefully it isn't another 2021 special game. Florida wins

Texas A&M:
Kind of in the same boat we are but they have a first year coach and its in the Swamp so we should have a slight advantage. Florida likely wins

@Miss State: Florida has the clear advantage and Miss State has a 1st year coach but we know about the crazy games we get sometimes in that state. Florida likely wins

UCF: At first you would think this should be a very easy win at home but UCF is strong where Florida has been weak on defense - in their run game. Does Jefferson revert back to playing like he did a few years ago after the Arkansas train wreck last season? If so maybe UCF doesn't get beaten real bad. Florida wins

@TN: Is TN's new QB what their fans think he is? If so TN will be in no danger of losing this game as our mastery over them is only in the Swamp now. TN wins

KY: A huge game for Napier after losing to them 2 times already. Some real talent on defense and an unknown on offense right now. They do play the run well which helps against a Napier led team. Florida likely wins.

Georgia: I would give Florida almost no chance in this game if it wasn't a big rivalry game but there is a real small chance Florida wins I guess. Georgia wins

@TX: Unlike the Georgia game Florida I think has almost zero chance to win this game. TX Wins

LSU: Florida has the Swamp advantage but I think LSU has enough overall talent to win this game. LSU likely wins.

Ole Miss: I think Ole Miss might have too much on offense combined with some nice additions on defense for the Gators to win this game in the Swamp. Ole Miss likely wins

@FSU: A close call. While FSU lost a lot they did plug a lot of holes with the portal. I lean to FSU winning at home but their new QB didn't look that good when he was in the ACC previously. FSU likely wins but close to a tossup.

That would put Florida at 6-6 with another 2nd half collapse. If Florida was to lose to either Miami, UCF or Kentucky its hard to see Napier recovering from that with how this schedule sets up. Ole Miss might end up being the game that determines if Napier is canned or not with the 4 games that proceed the Ole Miss game.

I pretty much agree except on LSU and FSU. They lost a ton to the draft. Both have QB's that will be new with much different skill sets than their predecessors. Both lost a lot of skill players too. I would have them as TBD. I think we may end up having better rosters than both.

Ole Miss is a very interesting one for me. They haven't recruited especially well. They cleaned up in the portal with a few top level starters, but their depth is questionable. I am glad we play them towards the end of the season as injuries could kill them, and if they lose a couple games, their mercenaries could start checking out.

I agree LSU and FSU are unknowns but I do think FSU plugged their big holes enough to be on par with us at least. LSU has more top talent than us but might not have as much as they usually do.Ole Miss I think short of an injury to Dart at QB is definitely legit this season...I think 10-2 with a playoff spot is 50/50 for them and doubt they go worse than say.. 9-3.

Gators only team in playoff discussion with 8 wins?

I guess if they were all good losses and we had a win against a 9-3 or better team we could be considered for a spot. Doubt that happens but 9-3 in the new SEC and Big 10 gives you a good chance to get in probably.

If the changes in the staff (defense and S&C ) work out I think 7-9 wins is doable. Heck, there's a case we should have won 7 or 8 last season

If we somehow won 8 or 9 games it would make me think Napier finally figured out what he is doing. 9-3 and we are playoff bound.

Again, I would argue that the last 2 seasons the Gators were 8-4 teams that found a way to be 6-7 and 5-7 thru poor coaching and execution. The 2024 team has more talent than either of the last 2, if Napier figures it out, we will win 8 games or more. Schedule looks tougher on paper than it really is.

Yep it is true in the past even after Meyer we would look at that schedule and think 8-4 minimum and 9-3 a good possibility. We would probably just think GA and @TX as likely losses and would think we go 3-1 or 2-2 against Ole Miss, @TN, @FSU and LSU.

If Mertz doesn't get hurt Florida wins the Missouri and the FSU games
Brown was horrible against Missouri that fumble sealed our fate. Against fsu Brown did what he could I thought the play calling in the game got stale after half time. But unfortunately no matter how good the defense played in the fsu game Brown was not good enough to get it done.

Miami
Had problems because there QB play was horrible at times last year,. I didn't watch much of Cam Ward at Wazzou last year. But with the talent Miami has and adding in Ward. They could be very good.
I see Florida losing this game unfortunately.only because the Oline Will get Mertz sacked 6 times and have him hurried over 20 times plus I think they only have about 60 yards rushing.

lol, it's ok man. Billy had us all fooled. I definitely had bet the over and was planning on going in even more before Saturday.

Now I'm just laughing that Vegas knows something none of us knows.
