The upgrades will happen in phases. Various components to the construction will include reconfiguration of office space and a weight room within the stadium confines. Stricklin also teased the idea of rolling some other features out first, such as special lights or audio or new video boards.

Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Seating Bowl
The stadium seating bowl improvements will provide upgrades to the access aisles by increasing the width and adding handrails, seating upgrades to include replacement of bench seats with chairbacks and bench seats width adjustments, and concrete restoration. The scoreboards and sound systems will also be upgraded.
East and South Concourses
The east and south concourse areas will be upgraded.
South Endzone
The south endzone will be studied for potential renovations to include a Club area and/or Loge Boxes.

Renovation is much needed. Seating area is poor compared to other venues. I saw one proposal that discussed removing about 8,000 seats and adding chairbacks and increased room.
This sounds about right to me. The size of the student section needs to be reduced. It doesn't fill up most of the time anyway. 80,000 would be a good size and make the tickets a premium again.

A lot of CFB stadiums are taking seats and working at making more comfortable.
I believe UNC changed their whole stadium to chairbacks.

Louisville did that to their stadium years ago too. I think EVERY seat should be a chair.

It would be cool if we were the first SEC school to completely strip out bleachers and have nothing but actual seats. Louisville did it so no one else has an excuse.

Long overdue. Need to also reduce the number of student tickets, for paying fans that actually will attend the games.
