I have this talk with my daughter all the time. She is named after the coolest person I have ever known that died in a car accident worse than this when we were 19. You have to use other's mistakes as learning tool to make yourself a better person.

Your wish will probably come true if it is confirmed that he caused the accident.
If not, he may still serve some time, but not like he would if at fault.

That’s terrible. Hope that Riggs is okay, but man, he has messed up two lives…his own and the person that died. Prayers sent to all involved.

And so many more depending on who died

He didn't mess up someone's life, he selfishly ended it

not sure he'll pull a Leonard little out of this one

I will never understand why someone making millions of dollars would ever, EVER risk drinking and driving. Its so incredibly stupid, and you see it way too often.

Per Twitter sleuths, the car in the background may be Ruggs’ green corvette.

ESPN reporting that he hit a Rav 4 and one person in the Rav 4 died. Also said that Ruggs was not seriously injured.

Leonard little
not only did that a-hole not serve a day in jail after killing someone while over two times the legal limit, he was somehow acquitted of drinking and driving 6 years later driving 78 in a 55, failing three sobriety tests, and admitting to police he had been drinking. He received probation for both and a speeding ticket for the second.

Well, he’s gonna go to prison. And have to live with himself. Look luck with both. How terrible.

your dad isn't wrong. It was very rare I was out that late and not doing something I probably shouldn't have been doing

yep, looks like it was undoubtedly his fault based on that. He's going to prison.

lsufball19 already commented on Nevada law*, but for comparison former Cowboys CB Dewayne Goodrich served eight years before parole.
In 2003 in Dallas, he struck and killed (hit-and-run) two Good Samaritans who were trying to rescue someone from a burning car.
*ETA: DUI resulting in death is a Class B felony punishable from 2-20 yrs in prison under Nevada law.
