What does "more educated" even mean really? Are you saying you have more degrees or something?
Personally I didn't go to college. I joined the military at 18. I am a self taught programmer. I've been a full stack developer for more than 20 years. I've written production programs that have generated millions of dollars in revenue and met with and helped develop/test software with companies like google. I lived in "Silicon Valley" for a decade before deciding to move back east in "semi-retirement".
I also enjoy creating AI that competes against other AI as a hobby. I can use any programming language you want easily.
But I guess you'd say I'm extremely "uneducated"?
Well that's dumb. Probably just about every person who posts on this forum has the kind of education that doesn't come with a piece of paper and isn't taught to people in schools.
It's called experience, and I guess they didn't teach you that experience > education.
Any good resources for someone who has to take a C++ class for my EE degree next semester?

Sorry, never taken such classes so I'm not sure what you can expect.
If you want to learn how to program in C++, then there are tons of tutorials on YouTube to get you started.
Also you can try to solve challenges and contests on some websites. For example: codingame.com/ is a good one. They have 4 main competitions each year, and they are promoting the fall one currently, but beyond that they have a lot of smaller puzzles you can solve. You can pick any language you want, and you use their built in IDE to code/compile.
Oddly enough, the best way to learn programming is to just make programs. Then you'll create the bugs, learn from the mistakes, etc.
But I always figured those kinds of classes was about memorizing syntax etc, which I find useless.

Here is a tutorial.
But I would also hit your nearest book store and pick up a C/C++ book and read it, front to back. Then read it again. That is what I did to teach myself programming.
And as someone else said, start making your own programs.
Think of a problem you want to solve and try to make the program that solves it. Start simple and work your way up.
