unOFFICIAL Assistant Coaches - Bama/Texas A&M game breakdown

As by request, I started a new thread for this game. Plenty of dumb mistakes to see.
For those that care to relive this mess and watch his NINE part breakdown
On a side note, I’ve liked his videos more this year. He’s actually breaking down offensive and defensive plays rather then focusing on a few big ones and hyping them up

"the worst defensive blitzes in college football history"

Saying all these stuff some of us have been ranting about since the game.
Still can't believe we made adjustments. They worked... then on the last two drives that moutbreating worthless idiot Golding threw them away and went back to his shitty man coverage with a delayed blitz.
The moron even had Will Anderson drop into coverage while letting a DB delay blitz.
Amazing thing is he is still defended by some... obviously people who know nothing about what actually happens when the ball gets snapped

Defense was bad.
But I would like to mention that I don’t get why Chris Owens is starting at RT. He manages to be by far the worst OL on an already struggling OL. Guy might as well had his hands tied behind his back on some plays. I get that the backups might not know the offense as well, but at what point does his uselessness in pass protection become too much to ignore?

Thanks for posting. Worth the watch to see what all is going on. Points out good and bad very descriptively and accurately.
Certainly, it's been determined who creates these. Hasn't it?

I am no coach by any means but watching those videos Owens seems to have a tell. Every time we are going to pass the ball his right leg is back already planted waiting in pass protect. When we run the ball his leg is not in the same position because he is going to push forward.
When they come in instead of moving and planting to absorb/block he is having to back peddle and can not plant. Where Neal is able on pass protection on the snap take one step back and plant.
Again no coach but seems easy to recognize. Reminded me of the Invincible when the guy was telling Vince how to read what the OL was going to do.

We funny don't have the right mix at oc and DC. This will likely be a frustrating year, compared to what we're used to.

Was interested in watching us call those blitzes time after time and they weren't working but when we dropped back 8 they couldn't get anything going......that is what Arkansas did

Yep. And we ran our basic nickel D with zone coverage against Ole Miss. It works way better than anything else Golding cooks up and tries. Our guys played fast, made plays and stopped drives with far fewer mistakes such as being out of position, blown coverages, missed tackles and penalties. Instead of sticking with what works well, Golding cooked up a game plan that made our defense turrible again and made A&M's weak offense prolific.

Yeah, there is so much that doesn't make sense between A&M and Ole Miss games that it almost has to boil down strictly to how poor the gameplan was.
Averages vs. Not Alabama
Ole Miss: 52.5 PPG and 629.5 yards
A&M: 23.4 PPG and 376.6 yards
Output v. Alabama
Ole Miss: 21 points (-31.5) and 291 yards (-338.25)
A&M: 34 points (+10.6) and 379 yards (+2.4)

Yep keep it simple and everything in front of the players. Even in that formation Anderson seems to play get more pressure.

Just watched this replay and … WOW
I didn’t want to believe this, but it was worse than I thought. The crowd noise doesn’t impact the fact that we are undersized and tentative on defense. Maybe tentative isn’t the right word since it looks like the entire LB corps is purposefully staring at the quarterback like Cam Newton is back there.

Owch… and the offensive line.
I get they have okay statistics this year, but the offense needs to get mean just like the defense.
I’m surprised Bryce didn’t break an arm or tear a shoulder. Need to look up some stats, but when is the last time the offense was consistently in 2nd and 15+?

I love watching John Doe’s breakdowns. He can be a funny dude, but when he starts breaking down film, that’s where he really shines.
