ESPN has us going to either the liberty bowl or music city

It’s dumb as hell that we don’t get a benefit for playing the toughest schedule in the country and that Florida and A&M are projected to be in better bowls than us. Kentucky ole miss alabama and Georgia are the only teams in the sec better than us and all 4 of them should be in a ny6 bowl leaving the citrus to us but I’m sure they’ll show horn the gators in there. It really feels like the only way we don’t get fricked in bowl seedlings is if we play a damn near perfect season

It's either Sugar, Cotton or toilet bowl as far as I'm concerned anyway

I love getting fricked on scheduling. We need a "Merry Christmas" schedule, as Reggie Herring would say.

9-3 and we’ll still get a really good one. It is crazy that some of them had us in the Sugar Bowl before Saturday and dropped us to the Liberty after one loss though, big fall.

quote:I feel like if bama wins out and gets back in the playoffs either us or Kentucky will get in the peach bowl with ole miss in the sugar which again should put us in the citrus but I already know unless Florida loses 4 games which they won’t do against their charmin soft schedule (by sec standards) theyll get to go there. At this point I just hope they don’t put us back in the Texas bowl

If we’re not in the playoff or ATL, does it really matter anymore?

I think making a ny6 bowl and anything other than the Texas or liberty is good. Even though those bowls are techinically the same as any other sec bowl game I just feel like they have a negative connotation like if you play in either of those bowls it was a bad season

A season like 6-6 will get you a Birmingham bowl. 7-5 gets you the Liberty. 8-4 is likely Music city. Cold arse bowls but I would take a trip to Nashville.
9-3 or better gets you a warmer bowl game.

It depends on perspective. It would be a good bowl for Arkansas fans. A waste of time for LSU as they are used to better bowls.
The worst bowl including all of them is the one in Birmingham. Places like that have nothing that would want me to go visit. At least Memphis and Nashville have something.

The warmer bowls are more desirable in the winter than places like Memphis regardless of the prestige.

the only bowl I care about right now is us beating the crap out of Auburn in the DWRRS Bowl this Saturday

Not anymore. They are just exhibition games. Bowls have lost the luster when they kept adding more useless bowl games. Now 5-7 teams can go.

we were 13th and Ole Miss was 17th
after the one point loss, we've traded places
we are the 17th ranked team in the nation, and when we beat Auburn this Saturday we start to climb again
at the end, if we get screwed in a bowl, our awesome athletics direct Hunter will scald some asses in the SEC offices or wherever asses need to be scalded
we have a professional AD for the first time in history and it's fun watching him work

Pecking order
2 of the playoff 6 for the tope 4 teams
then the other 4 bowls in the playoff 6, those 6 are the Cotton, Fiesta, Peach, Orange, Sugar, Rose.
then the Citrus Bowl is next in line...
Then the pool of 6 bowls, No longer is one considered above the others. They are picked by the SEC office in correlation with the university AD's and teams.
Outback
Taxslayer
Music City
Liberty
Belk
Texas
Then the last two.
Birmingham and Indy bowls.
Here is what I do know, If we are chosen for the pool of 6, because of Covid among fan participation, the Texas, Music City, and Liberty are the top three destinations.
If we wind up in the Liberty again, I have contacts to get the best seats/suite available.
Of course prefer others... But....

In the minor bowls, they like to rotate bowls as it would keep fan interest up. We have been to the liberty, Belk and Texas bowls. We haven't been to the outback bowl and the music city since 2002. Never been to the taxslayer either. So those three are where Arkansas will go if that is the case.

They will put us in bowls where we never been like the outback or taxslayer. We haven't been to the music city since 2002.

Dude, I am not trying to be rude or condescending here.
But, there are several things that go into consideration here.
Fan Participation
Time between playing in that specific bowl
TV contract/time
and last now, used to be first in the formula, Tix Sales
It will not be often that we leave our specific area of the country for a bowl. Belk, sometimes... Most often Liberty, and Texas.
I have worked with bowl reps, and presidents for over 20 years in promotions, sales, marketing, and even sat in on calls with conference officials. Golf tourneys, after parties, suites, etal.

I understand. Most bowls should be close enough so fans can travel better. I just think we are due to go to a bowl like the music city if that is the case.

yeah, music city fits the description as well.
Liberty, Texas, love Arkansas fans... Will travel there.
Large fanbase in tx as well.
Music city would take us, but usually for some reason picks KY first if available.
