WHen FSU was dominant, Clemson had one of the hardest paths to title games and playoffs. We are in the same division. Nobody gave us an excuse then.
FSU was the only good team for a bit there. That division has always been a "1 and the rest"

I think Alabama is more likely fade away than Clemson is, post Saban.
You guys are already fading away now.

SEC has basically formed a monopoly because they fear a 12 team playoff will level the playing field.
Sure. Because the SEC has a rough go of those earlier playoff games.

LSU will become the next Tennessee.

You have to admit that is pretty impressive.
It's because we are built on an Indian Burial Ground.

Miles won because of a fluke (Our win over UGA).
2007 LSU was the first and maybe only team to defeat 5 teams that FINISHED in the top 15. You can call it fluke all you want but a SC gamecock calling another teams season a fluke is laughable

no idea, that's why I said it was a down year in football.
i do think a team should have to win its conference to be in the playoffs. So i give LSU credit for that. Conference play should basically be the early rounds of a playoff.
Alabama got the 4 seed a few years ago despite not winning the SEC.

Then why was our opponent in Atlanta Tennessee and not UGA?
The "fluke" that year was the two losses for LSU (TUcky and Arky. Damn hillbillies. ) Even if UGA beats y'all, LSU destroys them in Atlanta, so LSU still goes to the 'ship over them.

the ACC is a solid conference, and especially since Va Tech, BC, Lville, Cuse, and Miami joined. SEC has had more teams win natties but for the most part Alabama has been a Bowden era FSU type program in it since Saban arrived. That means it isn't competitive as advertised. LSU, Florida, Auburn seem to have magical seasons but then a lot of mediocre in between. People tend to think of them as better than they are based on their magical seasons.
People forget this but Va Tech has won the conference 4 times since they joined 15 years ago or so.
the only conference you think is good is SEC. SEC should just started its own league. I'd be cool with that. A league that didn't have the SEC would probably get better ratings.
You can't fix stupid.

With the players they had?
Most.
Most.

sec is always complaining about their schedule being tougher than other conferences but then adds Oklahoma and Texas once rumors of a 12 team playoff drop.
BC won our dvisions twice in the Matt Ryan years, and Wake won it once. Maryland won the ACC prior to expansion.

With the talent pool and no major in-state rival to contend with,,, oh, I don't know, how about, 350...

Read the sign you posted. There's nothing on there about a burial ground. Indian mounds often =/= burial mounds.

Well LSU is a stepping stone, not a destination, job.

This is not the endorsement of your division you think it is.

Name an LSU head coach that used LSU asstepping stone for another college head coaching job.
Hell I can't even remember the last coordinator to leave for the same position at another school.
Kevin Steele comes to mind.
So I was looking at some stuff for Kevin Steele and came across this...
quote:
The documents show Miles met with six candidates: Steele, Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, Penn State’s Bob Shoop, Oklahoma’s Mike Stoops and Georgia Tech’s Ted Roof.
In all, he considered 21 more candidates for the position that he eventually gave to Steele. Miles even considered North Carolina defensive coordinator, former Auburn coach Gene Chizik and current LSU D-line coach Ed Orgeron, who has never been a defensive coordinator in his lengthy coaching career.
Orgeron’s name might vault to the top of the list. He just completed his first season as an LSU assistant.
That was 2016

That is among the better arguments I've heard about the power of LSU as a program. For real.
Although, it is very fair to say Miles really did win off Saban's treasure trove of talent. Not his own. But he won and that's just how that is.
I think LSU is obviously one of the better schools to win at, but I do think there is a problem with the administration and corruption more so than the average high profile school.
