No dumbass, you have to have the flight time. University of Phoenix and other Universities do not offer flight training. Trust me you do not know what the frick you are talking about. Those three Football players will be making 250K per year within 10 years of graduating from AU Aviation Program without having to depend on the NFL.
Did you know you can acquire flight time without ever stepping foot on campus of a University that has a flight school? Did you know you can earn your commercial pilot license in less than 6 months & acquire the required flight time to be an airline pilot in less than two years?
I don’t tell you what’s required to milk cows for a living. Don’t tell me what’s required to fly planes.
ETA: The vast majority of airline pilots didn’t graduate from a University flight program. They either have degrees in other fields of study, or no degree at all.

You can go to those quick courses, but you do not receive a BS degree. You can get all the ratings in the world but the Majors want you to have a degree. So those quickie course graduates usually end up flying for Commuter Airlines in hope of upgrading. Ask me how I know.
P.S Auburn's Program has a waiver from the FAA which allows their graduates to receive an ATP with 800 Hours of Flight Time (1500 normally required) and they have an agreement with Delta to hire their grads out of College. Ask me how I know.

80% of the Major Airline Pilots use to be trained by the military. That has changed the last 15 years, but they still require degrees and the proper flight time.

You can literally have a degree from any four year college in any degree field.

No, they don’t. It’s a 1,000 hour minimum (FAR 61.160), and Auburn is one of 30+ schools included in that waiver - if the pilot graduates with a 4 year degree.

They literally don’t. That’s not a thing. They get sent to a regional airline under the “Delta Connection” brand. Endeavor, SkyWest, Republic all fly as Delta Connection. They are absolutely not being hired at Delta right out of college. Guess what kind of degree is required at Endeavor, SkyWest, & Republic?

I thought Auburn was going to kill us till I heard TJ Finley doing an interview with a local Baton Rouge radio guy. This week. Like, really?
Now this. They are fricked.

Pretty cool that we have an actual pilot on here.

Where do I start to show how fricked up you are ?
You still have to have the flight time to get hired.
You get a Unsat to your head space: LINK
Do some more research and get back to me and we will give you a recheck.
Do some more studying. It is a program that some of the European Airline use.

You do not understand the difference between requiring and the actual statistics by the Majors. You can also have 3000 hrs in a C-150 and the airlines are not going to touch you. There is a major shortage today of pilots, but they haven't dipped that far yet.

Auburn University is a FAA-approved Part 141 pilot school and flight operations are conducted at the Auburn University Regional Airport (KAUO), which is located less than three miles from campus and easily accessible via the university’s Tiger Transit shuttle service.
This degree, as well as the Aviation Management degree, qualifies for the attainment of the FAA Restricted Airline Transport (R-ATP) certification with as little as 1,000 hours of flying experience.

American Airlines has a flow agreement with all of their regional affiliates that doesn’t require a degree. Flow is 100% based on date of hire. United has never required a degree, although a degree is weighted. Frontier, Spirit, Sun Country, Allegiant, etc. all hire without degrees. All of them.

Already read it. Already told you about it. It’s a partnership. They require the pilots to fly for a regional affiliate under the Delta Connection brand, just like everyone else. Nobody at Auburn University (or anywhere else) is walking in the door at Delta Airlines with a wet ATP certificate and 1,000 hours.

All out of desperation due to the shortage of pilots. Prior to 9-11 about 80-90 % were military pilots. They all had degrees. The Regionals will take anything at this point, which is why I am very selective on who I fly commercially with today.

They know the process and agreements upon graduation. The rest of the strap hangers have to spend years trying to upgrade with a charter or regional.
