I agree. If Harsin demands a high standard from everyone and he sees something that he is concerned about, I would hope he wouldn't just stick with the status quo. The only thing that sucks, to me, is with Corn's connections to high schools in the state, if there is any bad blood there, that is just one more guy out there in Alabama negatively recruiting Auburn. You'd hope everyone could be an adult about it, but I won't hold my breath on that.

Harsin’s prerogative. It can still be criticized though. That is what we do. I’m trying to keep an open mind here but y’all say we are overreacting when it also appears Harsin is over reacting.

It's an odd way of handling it. 99% of the time you tell them to start looking and ride the season out.

I suspect something along the lines of disrespect to the chain of command happened, and if it did then this was the correct move.

Bryan Harsin has ranted numerous times on the WR position, from the beginning. The firing was something that built as time went on. He wouldn’t have made the move if he didn’t have one of his guys available. Period.

Yeah, this is absolutely correct.

And to all those saying he did it just to get his gut in there are wrong. If Kiseau isn't there, Corn is still there. With as big of an issue WR play has been, it's better to go ahead and rip the band-aid off and at least ride out the season with a guy you know, trust, and have worked with before.

It's been 4 weeks...there aren't a lot of examples of coaches getting fired in 4 weeks in college football. There are 100's of examples of position groups struggling and coaches being blamed but not fired or at least not fired in season.

This didn’t just start 4 weeks ago. Hoke put up an article yesterday detailing Bryan Harsin talking about the WR position that spanned throughout the year.

Harsin over-reacting? I'm surprised you are thinking that..

He sees this coach day in day out since he hired him.
He sees this coach's WRs doing things that he thinks is below 'the standard' to have a succesful group of players.

I realize it looks bad, just bc we're not used to seeing coaching fired during the season, but other than that, I am going to trust this offensive coach for knowing what he expects from the different offensive positions he needs to be successful.

ANd I think it is typical message board drama to come up with 'conspiracy theories' like Boise boys vs Southern boys. I don't believe this for a second.

What I did hear in the past, and still believe is CWill was not Harsin's first, second, and maybe not even his 3rd choice. But I am sure CWill was recommended, and probably did well interviewing.

But how you look in an interview...and how you perform or work with your new boss are 2 different things.

Harsin feels he was NOT getting what he needed out of his WRs, and when he overruled CWill's decisions on rotation, starters, etc, CWill reacted badly, and he was sent packing.

Another example of believing whatever you want to believe as long as it suits you. I’ve already shared my thoughts on the firing.

But that just begs the questions as to why Kiseau wasn’t given the role to begin with if Corns leash was so short. We have a very shitty recruiting class and just fired our best performing recruiter.

I don’t think that this decision like dooms Harsin or anything. The end may end up justifying the means on this move. I personally think it was a rash decision (which obviously most people disagree with me on lol). However I think it’s just really, really strange to take a chance on a young Sun Belt coach and fire him 4 weeks in, especially when other position groups have been similarly bad, with the position coaches for that position also doing much worse in recruiting

We beat LSU and no one cares.

We lose and Auburn is in disarray.

It is what it is.

Leads me to believe that this was in the works for awhile. Something happened outside of poor WR play.

Both Niebuhr and Rivals have said this decision was professional and nothing to do with conduct or malfeasance

Because the press ALWAYS tells the spot on truth right?

We will likely never know the truth or full story...

To be honest I've seen people say there are rumors floating around and I came straight here because I know this is a place that holds no punches so if there is a rumor to what happened it would be talked about here... But all I can find is the Boise boys VS the southern boys and I don't buy that. There HAS to be more to it than that and the fact the WRs are dropping passes...

So basically I’m not saying believe everything you read. I’ve read from both long enough to be comfortable believing it if both are saying it. JGT isn’t a Harsin defender by any stretch. Niebuhr is a professional.

An LSU win this week with a couple passing TD’s make Harsin look like a genius.

I love the move. Harsin has some stones.

By the way does anybody have the JBoy meltdown? He deleted it and I would love to watch him melt.

Wait until you watch it. His last message in the video to Harsin was something like: "Well you just better win buddy."

Yes Harsin has a set of brass balls. If he can recruit, he is exactly what this program needs.

From what I remember, the TLDR was something like:

Saying other positions sucked too, saying that he had a good relationship with Corn, saying That it was a scapegoat situation, then saying Harsin better win to justify the move
