Its a win. We have a long ways to go but its a start. I was expecting more out of the offense but maybe they will improve. The defense showed some sparks

He was our best 15 yard penalty on crucial 3rd down plays too.

Surprised Bailey didn’t get in when Milton started tanking.

I agree better than last year on the offensive side not so sure about defense given the level of competition tonight
Absolutely I’m sorry but I didn’t think Milton was “fine”
He wasn’t horrid but there was a good bit of ugliness in there that usually isn’t easy to fix

Yeah 11/23 for 140 with 40 of that one play (that wasn’t a great decision but great catch) against a bottom 5 team in FBS would not give me the warm and fuzzies. Bowling Green lost their MAC games by an average of 34 points last year

That’s not saying much, look at all the games he won for us

I’m mostly resigned to the idea that Bailey simply isn’t very good
I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t end up transferring eventually

Eh Milton looked fine tonight. Take away those drops and he looks a ton better. Lot to clean up still and I agree it was pointless to bring in Hooker at that point. That said, better than last year already. We'll see how it all plays out.
There were several times when Milton dropped back that I thought my TV signal had frozen. He’s gonna have a short lifespan vs real football teams.

You didn’t cover either.

Maybe he will actually be forced to make a decision if he gets pressure.

Yeah that was the weird part. He had time to cook an omelet on some dropbacks and he still made poor throws or decisions. My guess is he doesn’t finish the season unless UT intends on running the option.

I thought Milton looked a lot like Cam Newton back there.
The statue of Cam Newton that is. When he did move, he looked like he was afraid of contact. With the slightest bit of contact, he'd go down faster than a crack addict in a back alley.

So fine your coach decided to quit throwing the ball to avoid an upset

It was 14-6 and the whole game plan changed. That wasn’t a coincidence, not to mention the vols have multiple examples of losing or barely surviving games like this.

For want of a metal coat hanger.

That offense is the exact kind of offense you love to trash, and the opposite of what you expected, so it was funny to watch it in action last night.
