The only ranked P5 team they ever beat on the road...was Iowa State in 2020.

Texas isn't an SEC team yet, so the record is not in jeopardy

Is it really choking if ULL is just better?

But once they do become a SEC team their loss would be added in.
Because, as we know, the 1 loss was a team that at the time was not in the SEC.

I didn't know that ULL used to be USL ... interesting

The Waterboy shamed them all into changing

Yall remember why AM scheduled "USL"?
Because Lsu was tired of starting the year with an L. They ran away. Canceled the series. They still owe us money too.

1996 was an awful season compounded by Slocum's personal issues.

Texas A&M has really fallen off since those days apparently.

And they want to be called "UL" now dropping the Lafayette but since UL (Louisville) is already pretty well taken it hasn't stuck particularly well

The official name is still ULL, ever since 1999.

I feel like most are recognizing them as just "Louisiana" now.

Most definitely not, despite ESPN's best efforts. The official school name is ULL.
Whenever someone usually mentions UL without much context 99% of CFB fans think Louisville, not Louisiana Lafayette. Probably because that's been Louisville's actual name forever now and ULL is just trying to change their name without actually officially changing it, for whatever reason.

I am not saying "UL". I am saying "Louisiana".
If I walked into a sports bar in Houston and said, "What is the Louisiana score?", they'd tell me the Ulala score.

Jeez, I remember that game.
I think we had about 19 turnovers, at least seven returned for TD’s.
One of those days where you listen to the game (only option then) and your mind nearly explodes with all the fumbles. Even now, I just can’t understand how teams have days like that. Pull your freaking heads out.
It was one of those games that, to me, illustrated one of RC’s biggest weaknesses. He was a brilliant defensive mind, but he didn’t seem to do a good (or consistent) job of having the players’ heads ready for the game. Sometimes they came out and steamrolled, and sometimes they sleepwalked.

They're still USL to many of us in the area.

Well, Sumlin was definitely a problem, but Jimbo seems to have us back on plane. The only game he’s lost to LSU required them having the bestest team to ever even be thought of with a QB that can divide by zero.

Hearing Dave South do play by play will do that.

I know people who graduated from there when it was still USL. And I know people who have graduated from there since it became ULL.
And it took me a while to just start referring to the school as Louisiana Lafayette. I am not sure if I referred to it as ULL much. I think I made the transition to calling ULM by it's new name quicker. Knew fewer Northeast Louisiana University folks I guess.
I do hear quite a few people on TV refer to ULL as Louisiana.
