You're ok with something you got for free
you now have to pay for?
I've gotten it free for a long time but damn I'd pay to ignore some posters.

If you have the SEC Network through your provider you don't need an additional ESPN+ subscription.

explain why you thought you got ESPN for free? Because it was bundled into the cable package you pay for?

Already have a subscription so I could watch baseball games so whatever

You're right, but it is an additional cost. I am paying for ESPN, too. Now, I'm just gonna have to pay more.

Remember when you had to pay $30-40 to watch some games on PPV?

Yeah, they severely over estimated that market. That $7 will go to Bojangles before ESPN+. But mostly because there are plenty of ways to watch it for free.

I remember paying like $65 to watch LSU play Ole Miss on PPV in 2006. I also remember some non conference game being unavailable period. I think a lot of people have become spoiled with how easy it has become to watch every game from anywhere. But the fact is, ESPN has been hemorrhaging money since cord cutting started and they're not having everyone effectively pay for ESPN simply by having a cable package. They're trying to recoup their money. None of this should be unexpected with how much money they have invested in their TV deals, especially with our conference. And you're seeing the same thing with various other streaming platforms. Seemingly every network is creating their own streaming service with their own exlcusive content that requires a subscription. ESPN is far from unique in doing this. If you had asked me 15 years ago if I would pay $60 for a streaming cable package and an additional $6.99/month to watch every single game in football, basketball, and baseball, I'd ask where to sign up. If it's that big a deal, sign up for one month and cancel. It's still better than paying several hundred dollars a month for cable/internet/DVR packages to get inferior service you can get now for a fraction of the price.

on TV this weekend? Next weekend, it's LSU's turn. Have to subscribe to ESPN + / SEC Network + to view. No more SEC Alt channel for games. You have to pay a monthly fee. You can also dish out like $67 for a yearly subscription. Looks like basketball is going to be this way, too.

If they would just sell online subscriptions to SEC network they could turn me into a customer.

You don't have to pay Disney a dime. All football games are available for free on the world wide web

I have espn+. But seven bucks a month is a helluva lot better than that rinky dink mess we had to pay thirty for to watch three baseball games last year.
