I don't see where businesses, or Universities, or head coaches have to be into politics to be politically correct when it comes to this virus. You send the right message to fans, players, their families, that you care about everyone's health in a pandemic. It's just good business. And it's the right thing to do.

I'm not referring to politics. I'm referring to rules.
"The SEC might not finalize its game management COVID-19 protocols until the week of the first game, commissioner Greg Sankey told The Athletic on Friday, but teams should be ready for the possibility they will have to forfeit if they don't have enough players available due to the virus."
This includes quarantining players! Last year they tried to reschedule games...this year you'll forfeit the game!...Ask the Vandy baseball team.
If I'm a coach, I'm gonna do everything I can to keep that from happening! There'll be a bunch of short sighted folks around here who'll hoop and holler about taking the vax, BUT when their team gets hit with a forfeit, they'll squeal like pigs (no offense Arkansas)!...I hope we don't have to see that!

This is the crux of it. The rules are setup to make it incredibly fraught for a team to compete for championships if they do not get to the magic number to avoid weekly testing on their team.

This new mutation/variant is a bit more contagious and the soft lockdowns are over across most of the country. The risk factors are going to be way higher w/r/t derailing an entire season. No rescheduling to save anyone this year. You better have the bodies to participate in a competition or forfeit.

My comment wasn't addressing anything you said specifically. I just wanted to say that the head coach needs to look like anyone else in cooperate America. That they have a game plan, and that taking this health issue seriously is priority one.
