BB king
Elvis
Faith Hill
Buffett
Muddy Waters
Robert Johnson
I could go on and on….but no need. We win.
Hang ANOTHER championship banner for Mississippi…this one will look nice next to our “fattest state” back-to-back-to-back” championship banners, until Louisiana dethroned us recently. We were a fat dynasty.

I give you guys plenty of stars for those 2. They still provide hours of entertainment around the ole homestead.

Also Sister Rosetta Tharpe was born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. Both Elvis and Johnny both named her as a big influence.

The SEC region is definitely the strongest when it comes to musicians. Adding Oklahoma kills any other region in America’s argument.

This type of post would have been fine a couple months ago, we're less than 2 weeks out from SEC football. Clean it up Arky, act like a football school for once in your lives

This is always a difficult challenge because so many of these artists either had parents who were rolling stones, or became one themselves due to family issues at a young age and moved around frequently.
Take the Allman Brothers for instance. Duane and Greg Allman were born in Nashville, raised in Daytona, the Allman Brothers Band was formed in Jacksonville, but they are mostly associated with Macon, GA.
So who claims them?

The correct answer is Vanderbilt. They are in Nashville, you know the Music City and home of the Grand Ole Opry. All of these artists you guys are bragging about coming from your states, almost all go to Nashville to record. It doesn't matter where the artist is from as much as where the music is made, and that is Nashville.
