Israel would like a word with you. Take the shot if you want it, but the shot isn’t lessening transmission unfortunately.

Israel has one of the world's highest daily COVID-19 infection rates, despite high vaccine uptake

it may not be lessening transmission, but the vaccinated aren't putting a strain on hospitals.....

An Associated Press analysis of available government data from May shows that “breakthrough” infections in fully vaccinated people accounted for fewer than 1,200 of more than 107,000 COVID-19 hospitalizations. That’s about 1.1%.

And only about 150 of the more than 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May were in fully vaccinated people. That translates to about 0.8%, or five deaths per day on average.

A new study found that more than 99% of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 during the first four months of 2021 weren’t fully vaccinated.

The Cleveland Clinic, which released the data on Tuesday, also found that the mRNA vaccines created by Pfizer and Moderna were more than 96% effective in protecting against COVID-19 infection.

Among the 4,300 COVID-19 patients admitted to Cleveland Clinic hospitals between Jan. 1 and April 13, 99.75% were not fully vaccinated.

.......and that is the point health care experts have been saying for months and months.

Good article on this. High level is that this is in part due to the fact that Israel had a successful vaccine rollout, but it was in Jan/Feb timeframe, ~6-7 months ago, and that the vaccine effectiveness has started waning, therefore, more people there are getting the delta variant.
