Said it before, if you can’t go to an sec football game and have a good time , it’s not the school or the town that is the problem

Having been there, I'd say Clemson, SC is an AWESOME college town.....

I’d say it’s been about 7-8 years. Maybe it’s better now.

I mean it’s no booming metropolis but it’s definitely got a handful of newly developed areas with new restaurants & bars. I could see it being fun on game day.

Say what you want about Baton Rouge, but it is LSU country there. They love their tigers. If we’re talking school spirit, it’s up there. Believe it or not I hear that about Lubbock as well. I’m sure college station is as well. Probably the same feel you get in Oxford also.

Yep. Almost everyone here agrees Athens

Athens is quaint but you run out of things to do other than whoring pretty quickly. And it has way too many UGA fans. And how do people drive in Athens. The infrastructure is odd, with a tree in the middle of the road, a loop that doesn’t make sense, really sketchy areas. Every time I drive through Athens I’m amazed we were able to drive it drunk without dying.

There are only two things that everyone in Lubbock is experts in. The Red Raiders and Syphilis.

I used to know a few people from Lubbock and yeah, they didn’t have many limits.

It's incredible that so many publications and TV programs consistently rank Oxford and Ole Miss at the top for college towns and GameDay experience. But somehow this board thinks it is overrated

Many people who travel to these destinations for a living and are far more educated than you on the subject disagree.

I bet you think the vaccine has a microchip in it too.

What is wrong with State College? It's honestly one of the nicest towns I've seen and certainly the nicest I've lived in. It's in the middle of nowhere, but that's the only drawback really

I visited and it didn't have a wow factor involved.

My understanding reading this board though is Oxford is overrated, no?

Oxford is a quaint little boutique town that is popular with people that live alternative lifestyles.

Oxford is missing from as many of those lists as it is on.

Oxford is overrated because it attracts the kind of mid-wits who call the apartment they rent a "condo" because they think it makes them sound cool. But in reality, they just aren't smart enough to know the meaning of the word "condominium".

I'm not sure I've ever met a normal "Ole Miss person". Only cringe, try-hards. As cultish as A&M in some respects.

The cool part of town comprises about two city blocks. The rest is meh. As much as Ole Miss people go on and on about their frat/sorat stuff, their houses seemed pretty small. Nothing grand like the ones at Arkansas and Alabama.
