2008 - 2009

1. Oklahoma, $12.2 million
2. Texas, $11.8 million
3. Kansas, $11.5 million
4. Missouri, $10.4 million
5. Texas A&M, $10.2 million
6. Oklahoma State, $10.0 million
7. Colorado, $9.77 million
8. Nebraska, $9.73 million
9. Texas Tech, $9.2 million
10. Baylor, $9.1 million
11. Iowa State, $8.9 million
12. Kansas State, $8.4 million

quote:

On Thursday evening, the SEC conference announced its revenue distribution for the 2019-20 fiscal year, which ended on Aug. 31, 2020.

Per a release from the league, the SEC divided $657.7 million between its 14 member schools, which is an average of more than $45 million per school.

Obviously there are some years between those numbers. That being said, I think it's safe to say that this was a no brainer move for A&M and Missouri.

We blew up a conference over a literally less than two million dollar payout difference, and a tv network that no one ended up watching anyway.

Seriously pulling Big 12 payouts from 2008 and comparing it to SEC payouts from 2020?

Big 12 schools got $37m each last year.

More for OU and Texas when you figure in third tier rights from our own networks.

Interesting .. tidbit that I did not know.

quote:

Each of the league’s 10 schools will receive $34.5 million for the 2020-21 fiscal year

Which appears to be down more than $3 million per school from the previous year.

The good ol days are done for the Big 12 though. That's why Texas and OU left to come here... Fox wasn't going to continue to pay the Big 12 anywhere near what the SEC and B1G are set to make. As Iowa State's AD admitted, without OU and Texas, the Big 12 = the MWC.

I've found it very amusing that for the past 10 years, my buddies from Big 12 schools have shoved the per conference revenues in my face to demonstrate how they don't need Colorado, Nebraska, A&M, or Mizzou. I kept telling them that wasn't going to last when it came time to renew all those fancy media right contracts...
