How close are we to college football becoming a regional sport like college baseball?

It’s almost there already, and if you add UT and OU that completely chokes off everyone out west and we are officially there

I enjoy watching Pac 12 football when it’s relevant. USC, Washington, and UCLA being formidable again would go a long way to revitalizing that conference. Oregon, even with their Nike money, can’t shoulder the entire region.

You add UT and OU to the sec and I think the Pac pretty much quits on college football in entirety

USC doesn't really give a shite anymore. I think UW and Oregon at least have some good teams but not elite.

Last year's all-SEC schedule taught me that as long as the SEC keeps playing, I really couldn't care less what the rest of the country does.

Kind of agree. If the rest of the country stopped playing and all of college football was just the SEC playing each other for 12 games and deciding a champion, I would enjoy that as much as I enjoy the current landscape.

Remember boys and girls, a bad SEC game is better than a good OOC game. Class dismissed.

That's how I feel about baseball already.

Us rednecks don’t want to hear it, but a good portion of the country doesn’t care about college football already.

The west coast and northeast no longer care about college football. They're all about pro sports.
The game is still big in the Midwest but for how long since no one in the Midwest competes nationally except for Ohio State.
The south is crazy about the game and has won every national title but 3, since the birth of the BCS.

It's very possible. The PAC 12 needs a power program in LA to start winning and winning big. The pacific and mountain time zones can't be propped up by an Oregon team that loses their high profile non-conference game every year.

Mostly because college baseball has always sucked. From times long ago. And SEC Football is the greatest conference playing the toughest competition in the history of college football.
Let's start there.
