any coach have a better run that he did in the late 80's to 2000.
I think he had 14 straight 10 win seasons. If that is correct then Nick can tie him in 21. Think about that.... with all the wins and championships, Nick can only TIE him in 21. I don't know if his consecutive top 5 is in any kind of jeopardy... and I think he had a pretty good string of top 4 finishes, also.

That ol’ boy accomplished all of that with a Woodlawn High School (Birmingham) education too.

Man I tell you, I hate hearing about that generation passing.
He seems to be ready and his faith... I will see him again.

Just says terminal medical condition. That could literally be anything when you're in your 90's.

Father,
We confess that we don’t understand why things happen the way they do.
We don’t understand why illness comes into our lives, but we do know that You walk every path of life with us.
Remind Bobby that You are with him right now and that You love him, no matter what he is going through.
I pray for the Bowden family.
Give them Your strength as they care for Bobby.
Father, we thank You that You never leave us—that You never forsake us, but You love us.
We trust You, and pray this in Your name.
Amen.

This guy had some struggles in the ACC at the end of his career. Only ended up with a 105-27 record in the ACC

In 1979 and 1980 they had good teams that won 10 games and went to the Orange Bowl but the the media and CFB establishment didn't give them much credit because they were a former all girls school and a Johnny Come Lately program that didn't belong to a conference or play a tough schedule.
In 1981 Bowden offered to play anybody, anywhere, anytime at FSU's expense.
The result was a crazy schedule of road games against top ranked powerhouses.
In a span of six weeks Bowden hauled FSU to five road games, including Nebraska, Notre Dame, LSU, Ohio State and Pitt. Not a single home game in between. They also played at Florida and Miami.
They went 5-6 but earned everyone's respect and from there a powerhouse was built.

From 92-2003 his record in the ACC was 90-6. Man, I guess I forgot just how good he was.

Was the ACC that great during that time tho?

Wow.
As Spurrier has said, think of all the championships Bowden could have won, had he not had to play Florida and Miami every year.

Saw him speak at a church in the mid 90's. Genuinely good guy. Got to speak to him for a second and he signed an FSU hat that i had. As a socially awkward kid it meant the world to me that this larger than life figure (in my mind at least) was so easily approachable, kind and generous enough to not only give me an autograph but take the time to say a few words as well.

Very cool - I know that his football program had some issues that people liked to joke about, but everyone who I've ever heard that interacted with him said the same thing about him. Genuinely good man who is as nice to people who "don't matter" as he is to those that do.

He has prepared his entire life for the journey home to be with the Lord

May God bless your family, as He's blessed you, Coach.

At 91 most any illness down to a cold is potentially terminal. Great guy... strong Christian faith...which is all that really matters in the end.
But the ACC has always been a 1 team conference. In the 90s it was FSU, today Clemson. Have they had two really good programs at the same time? Makes top 5 finishes alot easier, but he's still an all time great.
