Simply batting practice when Josh is on the mound
Yeah I mean if you can't trust him to get 3 outs with an 8 run lead against a shite lineup like that then I'm not sure how anyone can justify keeping him on the roster. The guy had a decent little run with us for a while, but he's cooked at this point.

What do y’all think we do with Pache? He has been on fire this month in AAA and it looks like he has simplified his approach at the plate. Do we just wait to give him a shot again in spring training?

I better see Josh Tomlin has been DFA’d tommorow
I keep checking Twitter hoping to see this. I mean seriously, three appearances in August: 5.1 innings. 15 hits, 11 earned runs. Isn't that an ERA of over 18.5??

Braves extend d'Arnaud through 2023
LINK
The Braves re-signed catcher Travis d'Arnaud to a two-year, $16 million deal, the team announced Friday. d’Arnaud will receive $8 million in each season and has an $8 million club option for 2024 with no buyout.
d’Arnaud, 32, came to Atlanta in November 2019 and immediately paid dividends with a career-best season during the shortened 2020 campaign. He posted a .321/.386/.533 slash line with a 137 OPS+, winning the Silver Slugger Award. He also drove in 10 runs over 12 postseason games as the Braves fell one win shy of the World Series.
The Braves have talked to the catcher about being a mentor to younger players at the position, including William Contreras and Shea Langeliers, who is the club's No. 2-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline. Rather than rushing them into the role, the two-year deal allows for d’Arnaud to work with them.
“Obviously, guys like Contreras and Langeliers are exceptionally talented, I think they're both going to be All-Stars at some point,” said Anthopoulos. “But there's a lot more to the position than just being able to hit or throw guys out. I mean, the game calling, the preparation, receiving and having guys on the mound that believe in you. Just experienced reps [are] really critical in that position, it's hard to quantify. But this allows us to take our time with both guys. [Travis] is just a great fit for us.”

90 pitch CGSO...THATS impressive

Yep! Another great pitching performance.
7 wins in a row!
4.5 games up. Could go to 5 later on pending Philly/Padres result.

First Braves pitcher to do so since Maddux in 2000.

Can’t decide if AA brings him back. Part of me expects AA to roll with Contreras and some other veteran backup.
My comment a few pages back about bringing TDA back. I see this as a good sign heading into the off season (not that I’m ready to fast forward). If we’re pinching pennies then catcher is a spot we might could go cheap on if they needed to.

Didn't think this bunch had the ability to go on a run like this - even with the additions and TDA back.
Just a testament to a great organization, even if we get frustrated with it sometimes.

Agreed - it's a great sign. Especially with the DH looming, it's awesome to have him around as the "veteran" option when he's showing since returning that he's still very capable.
Get Freddie locked up and Acuna back healthy and boy......that's a good looking 26 man roster for 2022. Lot of really nice "tough choices" to make with the OF and rotation.

I’m about to get sucked back into this season. Might as well. I’m paying for MLB TV either way.
