He’s not transferring, Auburn insiders wrong again.

Never had and never will. I'm not sure what else it takes to get this point across.

It will never end. There’s a lot of fans that enjoy it, honestly. They dive head first into every rumor that pops up

I'm just waiting for people to start posting rumors here, and then take screenshots of them to 247 or Rivals boards and post them there as fact.

Complete the circle.

Been watching some videos of how Harsin used Jay ajayi in 2014. I think that's how we'll see Tank used.

Did anyone post anything here as “fact?” I must’ve missed that.

Anyways, sometimes rumors about transfers happen (Kessler from UNC) and sometimes they don’t (Tank).

Since your posted this, could you elaborate a little on what you saw? Would clarify how he will be used...

Wondering the same. Did he catch a lot of passes out of the backfield?

He caught 50 passes for 535 yards and 4 TD's that season (2014 - Harsin's first year as HC and Ajayi's final NCAA season).

If Devan Barrett gets a fair shake in fall practice he should get some touches, particularly if we pass to RBs regularly. Go back and look at his high school film, he is a very smooth runner with good vision. If he gets the touches I will stop my whining about him not getting a fair shake...and I wont bring up MAR anymore.

Copypasta from the transfer portal thread:

Re: 2021 expectations - If there’s any comparison to AU’s gridiron past to be made, its 1999. Sure, last year wasn’t nearly as awful as Bowden/Oliver, but it was also clear that the program wasn’t going to improve, and there was a similar power struggle going on behind the scenes.

Tubs came in with an entirely new staff and a lot of players opted out/were processed. We struggled mightily with talent differentials against most of our opponents that season, but by the end of the year we showed we could compete (blowout win over UGa, close loss to eventual SECC Bama). The next year we won the West.

Not saying that will happen this time around, but it’s clearly the most analogous to any other time in our history.

Can he catch though? You would think with his speed and open field ability they would have given him a shot at wr before moving him to db unless he's got stone hands. I don't remember him being used on the wheel route just the jet sweep. Of course this is Malzahn we're talking about so logic may not have been included in the equation

Pretty sure they did move him to WR before DB. And his freshman year, the only play he ever came in for was a swing pass out of the backfield, so I think his hands are at least decent.

Thats a fine thing to hope for but if he was going to be a big threat to help on offense, he would have kept him position before.

I would look more for him to be some depth but not a big contributor.

That's basically the only thing he did his freshman year. I remember just about everytime he played outside of garbage time with other backups, he lined up beside the QB and they threw a swing pass to him.

He doesn't really need to have hands to bring in a bullet while anticipating a safety is about to light him up. That's different than catching a screen or a swing pass. Plus, I think everyone knows that all RBs not named Tank are only there to give Tank a breather. That's my expectation anyways. If he can come in for 3 plays and pick up a few yards and not blow any blocking assignments while Tank grabs some water, I think everyone will be pleased.

So are we expecting Tank to get 20 carries a game? Probably so since the depth is not great

No, its because he's a transformational athlete like Bo, Dupree, Rozier, etc.. Go fish.

I mean, it's probably not ideal and he will definitely need to be managed through some of the games with weaker opponents, but I just don't see a whole lot of firepower on offense outside of him.

I certainly hope he doesn't have a November of 2017 Kerryon Johnson load on him all season. I don't think he could hold up physically under those circumstances.
