Back in '07 or '08 Alabama interviewed Propst for an off-field position. When they asked him if any of the rumors floating around about him were true, when he wouldn't give a straight answer they dropped him quick and wouldn't touch any of his players with a 10-foot pole.
He was on the outside circle in Alabama after that. So he wouldn't know anything about how Alabama is ran. The giveaway is him saying that Saban answers to Paul Bryant Jr. Anyone in Alabama would laugh at that. Saban's closest friend since he's gotten to Alabama has been Finis. Heck, he goes to Saban family gatherings. Saban answers to no one.
Another giveaway that he doesn't know anything, Bryant is not the 3rd richest guy in Alabama. He's not even the richest Alabama donor. The Drummonds are.
Propst sounds like one of those old-timers who wants to look important to the necks in Georgia. He's a notorious liar with a secret 2nd family. The stuff he's saying wouldn't be believable on a TV show. You got paid drug money by drug money from the police. Sure Rush

All this really is is audio of Rush trying to con this guy. He's actually asking the guy for money.
He's probably done it hundreds of times and the stories are probably always different. He goes to the owner of Billy Bob Ford or Ma and Paw General Store and make them feel they are a part of a larger college football booster network when in actuality they're making payments on Rush's 2nd mortgage. All it costs him is a fairytale or two. And it's worked for him.
To the guy's credit, it doesn't look like he fell for it.

When he names Hugh Nall, I became a believer. Nall was Tubbs OL coach. After Auburn Nall retired from coaching and went into the peanut business. Still knows how to run a bagman network no problem.

Funny...during ATPB the same jabrones on here saying "meh" and "schools buy players, it happens" were the same ones going ape shite during the Cam Newton saga.

Interviewing at Alabama felt like destiny. And his plan seemed to work. The interview stretched to three hours. Saban seemed impressed. On the drive home, Propst called his girlfriend. He nailed it, he told her. The dream would soon be a reality. A few minutes later, Saban called. Instead of a job offer, he had a question. About Propst's girlfriend. Propst, you see, was married to another woman with whom he had three children. Yet there were whispers he was living a double life. Two women. Two sets of kids. One football coach. Somehow, the rumors had spread all the way to the Alabama football office. Saban wanted to know: Was it true?

I love when SEC fans claim that recruits are going to their school because of the history. Poor kids from the country and city don’t give a shite about a schools history. They care about money and getting to the NFL and rightfully so.
