Agree - there is a middle ground between "holy shite fire them all" and "oh look people are mad about throwing 6 pitchers and treating a game with Air Force like a fall scrimmage what idiots they don't 'get it'".
But middle ground is for pvssies amirite

The biggest mistake made over the weekend was pitching Fontenot with a 5 run lead on Saturday and not having him available for an actual save opportunity Sunday. I'm sure everything was scripted to pitch certain guys certain days, and that script should have been tossed based on the situation. I get he wanted to have Fontenot pitch this weekend, but no need burning your AA closer in game 1 of a three game weekend when you don't need to.
But there is a wide gap in critiquing some things that maybe should have been handled differently and what that board does. Hell, they want to pull scholarships of true freshman in the first weekend of their careers

Yea - he just clearly has a strategy and that strategy is based around the fact that the risk in losing 5-6 midweek (type) games is very low compared to reward of developing guys, getting them confidence/experience and figuring out what you have for SEC play and the postseason.
I get why that would be frustrating, but it's been relatively successful and he's not wrong - in the end those games matter very little to the selection committee.

Exactly. Outside a few outlier seasons over his 14 seasons as a head coach, he generally as us playing our best baseball come mid April, exactly when you want to hit your stride. We've hosted a regional in 9 of the 13 seasons (excluding last year obviously), so there is some merit to this strategy. The committee has never shown to hold midweek losses against you as long as you take care of business on the weekends and in SEC play. So while it may be frustrating for fans to watch those games treated as "practice games," losing some of them has never mattered.

He said that when Fontenot was warming up we were only up by 3. Then once he was warm we went up by 5. So, he just let him pitch since he was warm and no one else was. PM said that it wasn't his plan to pitch Fontenot up 5 and that he wouldn't have had him warm up if we had been up 5.

I personally enjoy the contradictory nature of the melts. You get back to back posters simultaneously complaining about guys being too aggressive while at the same time not swinging early in the AB enough.
Hell they were complaining about the team not being patient on Saturday when we had like 11 walks. It’s amazing

I'd be frustrated as hell by it. I'd get it, but I'd also get frustrated as hell at it

This. I believe like 10 or 11 teams are ranked, depending on the poll. There aren't any easy weekends in SEC play
