Honorable mention is Trevor Knight.

He starts as a redshirt freshman at OU and leads them to a Sugar Bowl victory over 'Bama while throwing for 4 TDs.

He subsequently gets benched. He transfers to A&M and does not do much. He finishes his career losing to K-State in the Texas Bowl despite the awesome tutelage of Noel Mazzone.

Justin vincent as a freshman led lsu to the 2003 national championship title . From his sophomore season on though, their were not a lot of memorable performances/moments that I can recall.

Anthony Jennings ,justin Jefferson ,and Brandon harris all played well when called upon to come off the bench or to start a game late in the year, were great. Then as soon as they got a week of prep, and knowing they would start, never again showed anything of promise

Not SEC...but Garrett Gilbert from Texas.

That kid played his arse off in the '09 NC game. He was thrust into the most important position on the biggest stage with no warning. Ever game after that, he played like a back up quarterback and lost the starting job.

He actually had another great game against LSU in the SEC title game. Believe it was 9 catches for 170 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately Travis Stephens and Donte Stallworth decided to fumble the football.

Trevor Knight with Oklahoma. He came out and ripped Alabama's defense to shreds in the Sugar Bowl in 2013. He looked like Tom Brady out there. The next season he completely disappeared.

Well that's not true. He was one of the finest linemen the Muddogs every produced. They used to say every case of red bull in the state knew his name and shook in fear.

Jeff Dunn Alabama- first ever start was against heavily favored Tennessee. Threw a 90 yd td pass in a 41-22 rout. Looked like a future heisman winner.

Followed up the next season against ole miss where he didn't complete one frickin pass and lost his job to Gary Hollingsworth. Ended up leaving the program.
