I sat in front of Jeff once during the 2013 season I believe it was. It took everything not to get into it with him. Can't remember who we were playing, but it was early in the year before we got hot, and he was going on and on about how his son needed to be in there more. It was driving me nuts. When he did get in on a play, he met a RB after like a 5 yard gain and then got dragged for another 5 yards. I just turned and said, that's why he isn't in there more.

I'm not sure what we'd be hiring him to do, we already have a DL coach. Does he have any experience coaching OLB's in a 3-4?

Several D Line coach's have been mentioned for this position. The Vandy guy was a D Line coach at USC and was hired by the Titans as an Asst. D Line coach.
Haley has coached LB's before. He coached OLB at Clemson for one year. He coached LB's at G. Tech.

The name Bert Watts just popped up on Twitter.

Apparently JGT mentioned that these three have been confirmed as having interviewed:
Jovan Dewitt
Jeff Koonz
Vic So’oto
Dewitt and Koonz have ST experience (Koonz was also on Chizik's staff at Iowa State and GA'd at Auburn in 2004). So'oto would be a pretty exciting hire, I'd be impressed if we pulled him from USC where he's the current DL coach. No idea if or why he'd consider making a move kinda down to just OLB coach?

I had heard So'oto. First I have heard of the other two interviewing.
Hope it is So'oto also.

I trust Harsin's decision making but one of those three is much more impressive than the others.

He is at Memphis. Served as D Coordinator at Fresno State for two years. A Tedford guy.

No offense meant here but wonder what these guys bring that Twill does not. I have to think it is a new culture fit. Wonder who briefs CBH on past staff.

I am not as big on TWill as most of you. So I like it.

Maybe Travis Williams doesn't want to take what he considers a demotion or a step back as far as his career goes. He was coaching the entire LB corps. Maybe Harsin wants someone who has West coast experience/ties for recruiting purposes. Maybe he does want a culture change on the defensive side. I have no idea.

What does T-Will bring, other than being a former player? No offense, but if he wasn't an alumni, nobody would give a shite as to whether or not he's retained. So think about that for a minute.
Secondly, there is off field stuff with T-Will that was going on and was talked about before Malzahn was even fired. Don't be surprised if Harsin heard about that from other people within the administration/coaching staff/operations, and he decided a long time ago that he wasn't a cultural fit for him. A lot of people felt "fooled" by T-Will. I posted on here before Malzahn was even fired that it wasn't certain that T-Will would be back at Auburn this year. Now the new coach seems to have no interest in retaining him - hmmmmm.
By the way, a lot of people thought the "insider" talk about what was going on behind the scenes was bullshite, and what ended up happening? Steele - no interview, no interest in bringing him back (to be fair he wasn't coming back with the #StopSteele stuff anyway), but look at Garner and T-Will. Garner didn't even get an interview despite being an obvious recruiting asset. Zero interest by Harsin in retaining him. T-Will? Same thing: despite being a young coach, heavily liked by the fanbase, former player, etc. he wasn't brought back but Caddy was. Think about that.

At least for Watts, he also has DC experience like Schmedding.

I tend to fall into that category also.

I believe that you nailed it. Harsin doesn't seem to have any interest in what was here or what may have been happening. It seems he wants a clean/clear cut from the previous defensive staff.
