Class isn’t over.

I don’t see the big deal. It was always gonna be a shite class. Beamer virtually recruiting from Norman rather than Cola doesn’t really make a difference

Not that he could really do a whole lot either. Smaller class this season means more room for his players instead of Duncechamp’s down the road

We're still capped at 25 no matter what.

It’s a tough spot, but don’t you guys have a 5* QB coming in? That can mask a lot of deficiencies

We have 2 high 4*'s on the roster right now and our OC decided to play the 3* guy who'd blown his ACL 3 times, that had offers from powerhouses like Charlotte, Eastern Michigan, Marshall and Old Dominion....

The most important recruiting class that a HC has is the second one he has after he takes over a job because that’s his first full class that he has complete control over.

However, his second most important one is that first one because they are how you start to instill your culture, your brand of football, and the identity you want to project.

Beamer is off to a very bad start here. You’re not taking over a program that is on a great run that just had a great coach retired. This is full on rebuild. Get in early and start establishing your day one values. You can’t do that if you are still on another program’s saddle riding their horse.

I may find MrManic to be the type of man who voluntarily watches The Notebook when he needs "a good cry". But I can still agree with him. He got hired by retards at a terrible time. He didn't even have a staff in place who were ready to go. And something tells me we weren't even top 30 on this list had MusCANT still been here.

Anyone care to weigh in on this, I really am interested to know where we'd be.

Lol, this class was in trouble becuase of muschamp. Beamer not abandoning players he coached in Oklahoma is a very good thing in the minds of the recruits, loyalty. Not saying it will gain us a net benifit. One thing is certain 2 weeks would not have mattered one bit.

All this amounts to is low hanging fruit for nay sayers to chew on. It was always a given 2020 would be a train wreck.

We're going to be the new former Arkansas for a couple years. We just have to deal with it.

Thank you on your agreement.

The notebook is a guaranteed cry. As was watching 2020 in general for any topic.

Both, this class was barely tolerable when Muschamp was here, the day he got fired between transfers, early pro, and decommits..... well it is just a train wreck.

Our overall net recruiting hasn't been bad, so the players are there..... our issue is somehow coaching has not produced any net gains.

No silver bullet but...... we stand a slightly good chance of being terrible vs blah

To be honest, I thought Chad Morris was a better hire than Beamer.

I've tried to refrain from being too negative in commenting on the state of the program since Beamer was hired, as I really am trying to pump myself up about a new era coming into Columbia. However, it is difficult when the latest updates coming from the insiders on the various forums are pretty dreadful, in my opinion.

One of the main factors that the pro-Beamer crowd kept bringing up was that Beamer would be able to attract quality (or at least promising up-and-coming) coordinators through a CEO approach and a shite load of money. I believe in being patient with staff hires, particularly in the era of COVID, but as of now it appears Bobo and numerous other members of the previous staff are being retained. Even if we bring in someone else to serve as a co-OC with Bobo, it is still a pretty discouraging development as there are few instances where co-OCs actually work and it also pretty much guarantees that Hilinski is done at SC.

If we're sacrificing a stud like Hilinski to keep Bobo on staff all so we can land Stockton, then that is already a major strike against Beamer, in my book. Bobo is a good offensive mind, but it is imperative that we remove the stink Muschamp left over, even if it means getting rid of Bobo.

I understand keeping on Bentley, Kitchings, and Connor Shaw. I have no problem with that - but it also appears that Tracy Rocker is staying on. There is really no excuse for our DL to have been as awful as it was this year with all the talent we actually have there, and we're probably going to keep the coach that is clearly just packing it in before retirement? I mean, god damn.

As for recruiting, we all knew that this class was going to have to be thrown to the wolves for the sake of starting over. I'm not surprised that it is a dismal class as of now, but it is clear that our rebuild is going to be more like 5-7 years than 3-4. My only hope is that Beamer knows how to utilize the transfer portal and goes scorched earth on the JUCO circuit to make up for the fact that we're being beaten by Sun Belt and Mountain West schools in recruiting this year.

Overall, there's not much I am getting excited about. I hope he can knock it out of the park on the DC hire, but I'm not holding my breath.

The largest travesty is still that Ray Tanner is our AD. As a university, we are so fricking stupid. To think that we could be staring a slew of 2-4 win seasons in the face for the foreseeable future after the success Spurrier had here, it is just bewildering how incompetent our leadership is. Everything, aside from Women's Basketball, is tanking - and Ray Tanner still has a job. What the frick.

I took great joy in withdrawing all donations to the Gamecock Club a year ago, I just wish I could do it again.

Muschamp did an amazing job until this year. He held together the class last year and that was an amazing feat. Lots of blame, BOT, his w/l, tanner.

Nothing he could have done this year.

Literally everything else muschamp did was awful. No redeaming outcomes for anything.
